SD9VE conceal dilemma

Hey all,

New to the forum, posted this in the carry thread but thought maybe the question is better asked in this forum.

I'm an Israeli Citizen living in Jerusalem and recently bought a new SD9ve. I realize that for better conceal I may have gone with the M&P, but unfortunately the reality over here requires higher capacity. that being said, I'm in need of a high quality IWB holster that allows me to conceal my firearm so as not to become an initial target of an attack in order to repond better. Capacity, Weight, and Quality combined, and the SD9VE became a pretty obvious choice. Unfortunately, out here quality holsters are hard to come buy, and even if you find one the price is usually at least twice what you'd pay Stateside. I recently stumbled upon the "Stealth gear USA" IWB for 100$ and was intrigued. I'm looking for a lightweight concealed carry, and the breath-ability is extremely attractive seeing as it gets pretty hot around here. before buying, im wondering if theres anyone here who has already owned or owns that holster who can recommend if its a good choice for the SD9ve. I also have the option of the IWB "mini" for compact and under, or the full size "ONYX" and I was looking for opinions of people to see if the SD9ve is light enough to be considered compact so I could save some coveted waist line realestate... No experience with that holster however I'll say this. They all feel differently, I'm sure you know that anyway. I have a drawer full of holsters that I dont like. Stealth gear does look interesting that's for sure.

They remind me a little of AlienGear. Check them out. They are cheaper.

Unfortunately holsters are such personal things. What may work great for me may not for you. I really like Galco King Tuck

I like my Uncle Mike's. I can get the size for you when I go back out to my truck. It fits nice and flush. You can get the flap or not. I prefer not having the flap. The flap makes it kind of bulky. I carry a right hand IWB holster on my side or a left hand IWB holster in the middle of my back.

It's a full size. I don't think you could get away with using a "compact" style holster and it staying comfortable all day. A full size holster will distribute the weight across your belt much better.

The SD9VE is what I'd consider a large-midsize. A compact it is not and I'd look for something to use it as a backside draw over carrying it on the side w/IWB.

What are the laws in Israel about printing(showing outline of weapon when not wanting to), when carrying concealed? This will help determine whether a IWB will work for this larger type firearm over a much smaller Bersa/Walther 380 type.

When sizing the SD9VE, it is similar to the Glock 19 or 17. The in the waistband style is common for those firearms. Nylon would be a drier material, suede attracts moisture. If you can access Ebay, they may ship to you, possibly a slight charge over standard shipping. I usually purchase 2 holsters. Right and left hand. There are leather holsters that fit on the outside of the waistband, possibly custom so more $ spent.

I have a AlienGear 3.0 holster and love it , I find that it is very comfortable with the SD9VE

I also have an Alien Gear IWB holster for my SD40VE. It is very comfortable, and I think they run around $30. They are excellent quality and a steal at that price.

Great feedback, much obliged. The carry laws are very simple and relaxed out here, considering the restrictions on a licence in the first place are tighter. Once licenced a gun owner is permitted to carry as he/she chooses so protruding outline and the like is unrestricted. I've decided to just go ahead and go with the stealthgear, and will definitely be taking the full size as recommended here. Thanks for the input!

I use a paddle holster I can clip inside the waistband either in the small of the back or cross draw on the left side. fairly inexpensive and sweat proof.

Howdy from Texas, there are some that really like the Stealthgear. It is a little more bulky than the more tradional leather and kydex hybrids. But that has to do with the materials. They are nice.

For Dual clip, I like Black Arch Holsters (aka SHTF).
Single clip, Clinger and N82.
I also have a Remora for all my pistols, great for storage and taking to the range. As well as for quick AIWB.

Gets hot and humid here too.

I myself prefer OWB .. And a untucked T shirt .. And my SD9VE /SD40VE fit in my Glock 19 holsters perfectly !

Another AlienGear CloakTuck 3 user here. It's great. Their customer service is great too. My holsters (also grabbed the OWB) ended up somewhere a couple thousand miles away. As soon as I saw the delivery was screwed up, I contacted them and they immediately shipped replacements!

I use the Alien gear holster it is Iwb and is very comfortable.It is made in America.I paid 34.95 but it is now selling for 43 dollars still a bargin.Lifetime warrenty.I like mine very much.I carry my 9mm sd9ve or my 40cal sdve with no problems.

Also have the AllenGear3.0. With the sd9ve.But I have been using with the 9mm Shield fits pretty good.

I use the StealthGear ONYX (the larger IWB holster they offer) and the Flex ,their OWB holster. I love them both but if conceal is not an issue I would go for the FLEX, I use that holster now about 70% of the time I carry. It pulls in nice and tight and surprisingly even conceals really well for an OWB holster. If you "need" to go IWB their Onyx IMO is tough to beat. super comfy, conceals really well, and never gets "hot".
I'm a big fan, I also like the N82 pro, but that gets hot, it's a much better cold weather holter IMO. I have one for my Full size M&P .40. I also have Jm Custom Kydex OWB V2 for the .40 that I quite like as well.
