I have a fairly new SD9VE. I have fired a few hundred round through it, mostly blaser brass, some Russian academy ammo. I had an issue when I first got the gun, the steel case stuff locked up in the chamber and the gun double feed and was completely locked up. The range folks were able to take it apart and free it.

I was shooting on sunday, and i got the same issue. I have found that I can shoot one steel round a couple of good rounds without issue.

Anyway, I was unable to rack the slide, it was locked good and tight, I was able pull the slide from the gun body, I am able to push the barrel out a little but, but it looks like the extractor is jammed around the case rim and it is good and jammed...

A range person said to take home and hit it with a brass hammer.. The person in my mind says, not a good idea...

I took it to one place to see if they could work with it, they said no, so is there any hope, or is it time for a bomb squad. My fear is that I have not one, but two live loads in place.

Any thoughts as too what can be done. I am taking it to another gun smith later. I am too new to take something like this apart, at least without putting a bullet in the air and perhaps me...

I have some ideas about what I'd try but nothing I would advise someone else to do. A gunsmith may well be your best bet to minimize risk and damage.

I would call S&W and ask them. You might also want to send them the pics via email. If you're the original buyer you have a lifetime warranty.

1. A fired stuck cartridge can be safely driven out of the barrel. I use a brass rod, and have done it for several people. Unhook the extractor and remove the barrel first.
2. Don't use that ammo again if you gun keeps sticking it. Some guns just will not tolerate it, some have no problems.
3. Carefully clean the barrel.

Any competent gunsmith can do this for you.
