SD9ve good ccw?

Wife carried the Ta for a year and had no problems. At least a dozen range trips at 100+ rounds per trip-went to a G43.

Hi Nevadabob and thanks for the info on both guns. I really don't know much about the SW bodyguard 38 or the spectrum. I have always carried SW guns, 640; 4506; and the 915 but mostly the 640 (5 shot 38) but wanted the extra capacity and the Pt111 G2 is perfect and I am really glad to hear you are using the PT as your ccw. Thanks!

I carry my SD40VE IWB (alien gear) every day. I work retail and am constantly bending, squatting, reaching overhead, the works. Your body type, carry position, and dress all say whether or not it can be done.
Thanks, The Nothing, I am going to the gun shop and try the sdve 9 in my cc holster. Also, is there a big or any difference in a SD9 or a SDVE 9?

Thanks again!!

S&W calls them SD40 VE and SD9 VE Series SD VE ah marketing, all is marketing.
I tried the APEX trigger and spring kit in my SW9VE but the trigger followed and the pull was not reduced...sigh...APEX pulled the trigger install from their video..see other topic.
Geoff
Who bought a Walther Creed recently I'm very pleased with the pistol and it's trigger.

I would consider it kind of a BIG difference, but, yes, there IS a difference in the (2).
The SD9's grip texture is much rougher, stippled more. It's A LOT better than the SD9VE's grip. The SD9 has HI-VIZ night sights. The SD9's triggers is much smoother and has a much crisper break. Also, the reset is much better as well. One more thing, you might find trivial, but, matters to me, the SD9 is ALL black! It has more of a stealth look to it, if you like that. I DO!

Great info, Disabled!! Thanks!!

I am 6' ft and weigh 180. I carry the SD9VE every day and use the Alien Gear 3.0 I sometimes forget I have the IWB holster because it is comfortable. One problem: I had to trade the 3.0 back for a earlier holster because I was allergic to the Neoprene. Had a very bad active rash but no rash with just the leather.

Thank you all for this very helpful information. I have carried since 1992. For work environment I would mostly wear a sw640 in a renegade ankle holster covered by a sock. With the recent increase in violence I wanted more capacity and bought a PT111 G2 which i carry in a Sticky Holster under my t-shirt and my business shirt. No belt clips allowed at my work place and do not want the butt of the gun poking out more than it does already with the PT111. I just discovered the Stick Holster and it has really made a difference for me. I do not leave my gun in a glove compartment, I carry it with me all the time, mostly and that means at work. I am kinda concerned with some of the issues being reported regarding the PT111 G2, but every time I go to the range and put 50 rounds through it I feel much better about having it as my ccw.

There is a lot of positive buzz on the internet and YouTube about the PT111 G2.
