Got one of these as a late Christmas present from mom and I got to tell ya it is the brightest flashlight I have ever owned 5 modes of operation including a strobe and an SOS function. At full strength it is 250 lumens and goes from broad beam to narrow and I mean it is BRIGHT!!! I give it a solid 5 stars.

Making a lanyard for it as we speak (well, actually I'm typing this as we speak-but I'm making a lanyard too)
Getting a flashlight is up there with getting a fishing reel or a gun

Nice flashlight, good output on high and a focusable beam. The best feature is it operates on three AAA batteries, which are a lot cheaper than 123A's. I got one for myself, each of my brothers and my wife's brothers last year for Christmas.

Runs for three days on the SOS function, which could come in handy if you tend to need rescue in the middle of nowhere. The magnetic ring on the glow in the dark tail cap comes in handy and I liked the translucent red plastic band on the head when sitting in a blind in the dark... until I dropped the light on a hard floor. Fair warning - they're not impact resistant.

I have a different, model, looks like the 5557, looks like all the same features, 220 lumens. I paid about thirty bucks for it at a Batteries Plus. It seems like pretty good value for the money.

Pretty good price for a light with those features and performance figures. I'll have to think about that.

Bought my first about a year ago, and now own a 2nd. The smaller blue line, with a pocket clip, is also a really nice light.

I buy the Ultrafire XM-L flashlights that run on a single rechargeable 16500 battery. Most have the multiple modes with strobe and SOS but I prefer just one mode, and they are only about 12 bucks on Ebay and seem darn near as tuff as my Surefire 6P. The only flashlights that are brighter to my knowledge are the big funky ones that have multiple XM-L lamps.

ive got a finix 170 lumen s will temp blind some one and the distance these day s is unreal. tecnolagy in flashlights changes quickly it just keeps getting better

Fenix lights are a good alternitive to the two other big name , highly advertised, models.
Moderately priced, & offering big time brightness.
