Picked one up on a whim this weekend. Always been intrigued by these things. A Milford gun, serial in the 21,000 range. So far I haven't found a serial number list for Seecamp.

I do have about a half a box of Silvertips. Has anyone had success running anything else? From what I can tell, it appears doable as long as the cartridge length is short enough.

For some odd reason I got on a 32 kick a couple years ago. Probably have half a dozen or more. This will be a nice addition.

Somewhere, quite a while ago now, I believe I saw a list of alternative cartridges that supposedly are ok for the Seecamp in addition to the STHPs. I didn’t pay much attention to it because when I bought my Seecamp I bought a good supply of ammunition and I thought by the time I needed more it was likely those cartridges might be discontinued. Seecamp may have provided the list.

I had a Seecamp .32 years ago. The paperwork with it recommended Silvertips so I never tried anything else. I would think FMJ would also work but never tried it.

Page 12 of the owners manual speaks to ammo. You can use other brands but hollow point only. NO BALL AMMO - it can damage the chamber I was told by Larry Seecamp. I have used Federal in addition to Winchester. The manual is a very good read especially the introduction/ company history.

The company also lists these recommendations on line.

There is no serial number lookup that I am aware of perhaps a call to the factory in MA can be helpful. Yours is not an early gun.
They also sell holsters and accessories on their website.

I had one years ago when they were well made little pieces in .32 caliber but they were made kind of moot with the mini .380's available now.

I run Underwood +P 55 gr Xtreme Defender. They're 100% reliable and seem accurate for a gun with no sights. 975 fps in mine.

32 ACP +P 55gr. Xtreme Defender Solid Monolithic Hunting & Self Defense Ammo

The 65 gr Hydra-Shok is another good choice but those are often hard to find. Stay away from the Gold Dots.

You don't want expansion with a 60-65 gr .32 hollowpoint. If it expands, it will underpenetrate (Gold Dots).

If yours only came with 1 magazine, be advised the new production mags have different dimensions. If you can find an old one, snatch it up.

There are several ammo makers who produce 60gr HP. I've had good luck with Gold Dot and PMC Bronze. Silvertips are hard to find.

I have a Southwick 32 and a Milford .380. Hydra Shocks or Silvertips in each, so far.
That 380 really barks.

I don’t currently own one, but I’ve had 2 Milford .32’s, a Southwick .32 and a Southwick .380; I thought I’d like the .380 because I liked the .32’s so much. Ended up selling it after shooting it twice. I had to talk myself into trying it just one more time because I thought I was being a wuss. Loved the .32’s; bought my first one back in ‘96 when they were practically unobtanium. Can’t really say why I don’t currently own one, but I’ve still got a full box of the original Silvertips just waiting for my next Milford .32;)

I've had man a while, so likely a Milford.
Picked up that PMC .32 was shootable, and it is.
Not a pistol you need to shoot much, or at the range for score.

I have a Milford and have shot lots of Winchester 71 grain FMJ flat point ammo through it, along with various hollow points.

The buffalo bore Barnes 60 grain copper bullet load seemed too hot for me.

I also successfully hand load the Hornady 60 grain XTP, but those are discontinued.

If I carried a .32 ACP for self defense I would not choose hollow point ammo due to lack of penetration.

I’ve personally had experience with a friends .32 and .380 years back. They were terribly unreliable with any ammo other than the silver tips! There are some who revere the little Seecamp but personally I dislike them because of ammo sensitivity.

If buying a .380 for EDC I’d recommend a Ruger LCP Max. 10+1 or 12+1 in a 10.5 Oz. small, thin, reliable and accurate package. I’ve yet to see any ammo it won’t eat. Many friends have them and I get to shoot them often. Pretty accurate too.
