Seeking "better" L Frame stocks

I slipped on a set of Ahrends on my newly acquired 686-3

The factory stocks on my 686 SB are a tad too large for my hands. Moreover the extra weight of the underlug gives the revolver a "nose down feel" which I don't care for. So, seeking opinions for make & model of stocks that would be worthwhile researching; there's so many to choose from I'm not sure where to start. Many thanks!

I didn't think the suggestion would work for me, but my round to square butt conversions do work and are really handsome.

The OP didn't mention what barrel length 686 he has. If it is 6" or longer I suspect the muzzle-heaviness he doesn't like will not be cured by a new set of stocks, unless the issue with the factory ones is not having a secure enough hold. In that case, he might be better off with thinner checkered wood, or even (gasp!) rubber stocks for shooting.

Agree with finding friends with stocks to try before purchase :).

Oh, I think the purpose or certainly the effect of the square butt grip, some western style even with a flare, is to provide optimum contact with the heel of the hand, never mind concealment. It can, however, extend the reach to the trigger slightly.
