A week ago some poor kid in my town was shot at school. If you listen to the timbre of reporting when this sort of thing happens, you'll read that the victim was usually gunned down by a gunman, gunfully, in a gunly way, with a gun.

But a Cartholic priest in AZ who was also shot last week was "Killed by a career criminal." The victim was of the wrong... persuasion, I guess, to be gunned down by a gunman. He was merely killed.

Weren't both incidents 'killings' by a 'criminal'? The guy before that in LA was a gunman, though he had stabbed some and run some over. Not a knifeman, not a carman -- a gunman.

'Journalists' should be ashamed of themselves.

A week or so ago it was reported that in a car chase the criminal stuck a rifle out the window and fired at those in pursuit. It was one of them that evil black rifles and it was reported that a "high powered rifle was used". Maybe it's just me but one of them black rifles is sold that shoot .22LR, would that be a high powered assault rifle?

Of course it would. To an anti, anything of BB caliber or greater, fired in semi auto mode, with more muzzle velocity than a one pump air pistol, IS an assault rifle because taking the time to actually learn the difference between one firearm and the next would require spending time lookng at and thinking about firearms or even pictures of firearms that is better spent cowering under a blankie.

Our local media has given only begrudging coverage to the CCW holder who was killed in Walmart after the officers were killed in CiCi's. RIP Joseph Robert Wilcox, you stood up for the rest of us.

C'mon Guys! Some of our best material comes from the people trying to report the news.:D:D

I miss Jay Leno!

How many of you remember when the news was serious stuff and any decent media outlet went to great Lengths to get the facts correct. Their agenda, if there was any was on the editorial page, or the station managers comments at the end of the news casts.

Sadly, today is appears that the agenda comes first and the facts can be twisted to support the agenda. This goes for both sides of the political spectrum.

An opportunity to push an agenda at the expense of victims and their families. Professionalism at it's worst.

Anyone can report the boring accurate truth - that doesn't sell advertising space - as all the various "reality" shows have clearly demonstrated - you need to have a strong spin in order to entertain the masses - especially in the days of multi-channel 24x7 coverage - who has the time to do their research, gotta get "the scoop"

And who could forget the Asiana airlines flight pilot names! :D

OMG that is SOOOOO insensitive.... gimme a break, perhaps it was rude of someone to submit that info to the news outlet and it certainly was a double face palm moment for those who aired it - but base on some of the reactions you'd think that this was the only case ever where joke names were made or even read on the air and that no one other than Asians ever had their names made fun of.

I used tolike and somewhat trust our local media.I stopped reading the CC Caler/Times because they are now nothing but a propaganda outfit. The local TV statios USED to be good-the best of which USED to be channel 6. Now--all of em are toting a lib political agenda. Ever since Mr. McKennon sold Channel 3--they drastically went down hill.Mr. McKenna was not political in nature even though they at the station--really did lean right on stuff. Now it belongs to london broadcasting group--and are the slimiest channel in town.

Now th only reasons I really watch channel 6--are for the best Weather reports as well as the three beautiful ladies as reporters and anchors. Jenniffer Lira, and two others.

I find a couple of websites from the U.K. more reliable than anything this Country has to offer.

In fact I get better international news from my over-the -air TV because of the lack of any political bias.
