Fresh from the newsroom at NBC....
"A ban on assault weapons won't be included in major gun legislation set to take shape this week—all but guaranteeing it won't pass Congress".

:D

Dont get all up and jumpidy just yet. There is now 2 votes (to be voted on).

One would be on her assault weapons ban, which also includes a ban on ammunition magazines that carry more than 10 rounds of ammunition. The second would just be on prohibiting the high-capacity magazine clips.

This simply means that the MAG ban could very well go into full swing.

What about what they are calling "Background checks?" This could still lead to national registration. This ain't over yet.

So very true....get everyone focused on a gun ban....slip in the gun registration stuff....then pull the plug on the gun ban....make everyone feel warm and fuzzy and the worst of the legislation goes through without much opposition. Then....a year or two later....up comes the gun ban again....and now they know where every gun is. It happened to SKS owners in California several years ago. Don't let it happen to anyone else!

It's not who is ahead during the game that counts. It's who is ahead at the end of the game. Guys, we aren't even at halftime yet. All this means is that we might have a turnover, but right now it is up for review. Stay focused cause we got a long time to go. In the meantime, I am hitting the fridge for something to drink.

As others have said, this isn't over yet.

Giving in/up on this IS part of a distraction ploy, and an attempt to at least get some of their changes and limitations passed while appearing willing to compromise. DO NOT FALL FOR IT!

We cannot afford to let them add any more restrictions or limitations. Don't give an inch! Stay focused!

It's probably time to contact your CongressCritters again and remind them of this.

As previously said, this is not the time to get a false sense of security. The Feds are the least of your worries, and you only have to look to NY, CO and CA to see why. The real threats are at the State levels, in CA we have 47 bills that have been introduced by our anti-gun legislators. The Fed's can sit back and let the States do their dirty work for them.
