As the title states, I just shipped out the slide to my 4567 to Trijicon to have the sights relamped. They were quite prompt in sending an RA to send it back and as I understand they don't charge much for this service. Only real concern for me is that they gave me a 4-6 turn around time. Hate having my slide away from home for so long. Anyways I wanted to know if any other forum members had done the same and if they were happy with the way the sight turned out after being serviced?

Sounds good guys. 10-14 days turnaround and I'll be very happy! Hopefully the 4-6 statement on the RA is generic and I'll get it sooner.

I removed the sights from my slide and sent it in and came back in a couple of weeks, they looked like brand new and loved the two different color lamps

Let us know how long it takes for you to get the slide back. I have a 4566 with night sights that I need to have relamped. I wouldn't mind sending it in if it really only takes a couple of weeks.

Same here with a Shorty 45; I just don't want to be without it for too long. Thanks.

I sent my in the last week of March and they received my slide on the 28th. So far no word back from them. They quoted 2 to 4 weeks.

I had them do a set for a 4013TSW...took about four weeks. They had the slide for a week before they even looked at it. By their accounting, the clock doesn't even start till they look at it, so all the time spent laying around was just a waste. They did do a good job, I'll give them that, but no where near in the time quoted. I hope you have better luck.

I'm thinking about just sending the sights.
Sights are easier to replace than slides.

timn8er, who's the rider in yer avatar?
Is it Mick Doohan, on a Repsol Honda?

You better believe it! Mick has been my hero for years. I've got the old style replica Arai helmet too. Back in '92 when I ordered my bike, I waited till I was sure that I could get the red, white, & blue CBR900rr. I still have it, but I'm getting ready to part company with it.

Sweet. Moto racers are amazingly skilled. And brave (crazy?)

FWIW, I shipped a Third Gen slide to Trijicon recently to have the night sights re-lamped.

They received the package on April 30. I got an email on May 14 containing a price quote ($57, which includes the return shipping to me) and request for payment information, and I replied the same day telling them to go ahead with it.

I got the slide back today (May 22).

So, turnaround on this was about three weeks, and price was the same as it has been for awhile.

It's nice to know there is a service like that available. I bought my first handgun with Trijicon night sights, an S&W 1911Sc, about a year ago and while I am not worried about them going "out" as I would still have the dots to use in daylight, I was wondering what my options would be aside from replacing the sights and did price doing that. A few weeks without a slide for a gun I rarely use isn't bad and the price sounds quite reasonable.

My 5906 slide was received on March 30th, and received the email on May 14 with the price quote for repair. I was out of town and let them know to proceed this Tuesday.

This may be a dumb question but I'll ask it anyway,......

Must the old sights be Trijicon to be relamped or can they/will they modify OEM sights? I've probably got a dozen old Triji's on my ex-polizei duty pistols but my 3953 carry pistols are all equipped with OEM dots. If I need to start with dead Trijicons I guess I can strip them out of duty slides and stick them in the 3953 slides once refurbed.

I'm surprised nobody here seems to have backup slides and/or pistols. I've got backups for my backups and spare slide/barrel assemblies galore. Threads like this make me want to offer 'loaner' slides to guys who need them. Keep your eyes open,......I've purchased complete top ends for no more than you guys are paying to relamp your old sights and occasionally complete kits for under $100.

For $57, you need sights with dead tubes. I once sent them a 3914 slide with dead night sights and a 3913 slide with OEM dot sights - I wanted the night sights on the 3913 since I was going to sell the 3914. They charged me the re-lamp fee plus $30 per slide to switch the sights out. I was fine with that since I wasn't going to install the sights myself anyway and the total cost was still cheaper than retail for new sights alone.

Just one more thing: the new lamps are warranted for 12 years, and Trijicon also changed out the entire rear sight base as part of the re-lamping process, which is nice because now the new base has the ID code "15" on it (for 2015); the old one was a "97".
