Serial# confusion

My recent 13-3 gun show purchase has numbers and stamps every where. The serial# is AWZ3488, but on the yoke it says T12 and below it 75269. I removed the stocks and on the left side of the frame it has T12 75269 T34, on the right it has circled W and then 3410. This is something that I'm not use to seeing. My other two smiths (model 49 & 640) are the same on the but and yoke, I have never seen this before. At the end of the day the revolver points, feels, and has an awesome trigger, but is this normal?

They should be the assembly numbers.

The stamps you describe are all normal and part of the factory assembly and inspection process. The T12 and 75269 on the yoke and frame shows these parts were assembled from the factory. Prefix AWZ likely shipped in the fall of 1987. Enjoy!
