Serving notice or asking for trouble?

Just the other day - was in the McDonald’s Drive Through for a coffee.
Ahead of me was a Black new model Ford Expedition.
Chihuahua plates. Ruger decal on rear glass!
Really! Had no idea those Mexican Folks were Ruger Fans!
For sure the caliber is NOT 9x19mm (9mm Luger)

I usually put a Gunsite Raven on the back my vehicle. No text, just the raven.
I figure it is safe because it means nothing at all to 99.9% of people.

A plumber will bill you twice as much as apparently you can afford it.

A old man with a ‘96 Chevy truck in the driveway may get a Senior, Veteran and AAA discount.
And still won't come close to what the medical community will sting you for. They check your insurance and bank account before they even ask what you problem is or what problem you can pay them for.

Wear nice clothes, have a new car, live in a nice house and or neighborhood, shop at gun stores, go to the range?

All those make you a target for thieves, every bit or more than something like a S&W decal on a old pickup
Wear a vest, tuck your shirt in or let it hang, on your hip on your chest or stick it down your pants, drive a pick up, sticker no sticker, grey man, red pill blue pill ghetto hood or "nice" neighborhood... blah blah blah are these gun owning Americans? Sounds like a seasons worth of episodes on the View or Phil Donahue.

I violated my gray man schtick by wearing a cap from a small gun shop at work. The logo did nothing to suggest guns, it was just a name.
A young supervisor at work saw it and told me it surprised him as he did not think I would be a shooter. He obviously was.
The company was very strict about it's no weapons policy in spite of work taking us to sketchy places. I said something cryptic about how many supervisors I knew carried at work.
We declared a truce. I retired the hat.

I don't have any sticker on my current veh. though I have in the past. What else do you cover rust holes with? ;) Not to be offensive, no I'm really not, but no yard signs, don't fly the American flag, no bumper stickers, shoot me first, fly under the radar, grayman BS................ What ever happened to rugged independence, individualism and self-expression. I see plenty of split wood not atoms, save/ban this, that, or the other, Biden/Harris/Obama/Sanders and of course
1746984958372.png that means anything but, and every other commie, leftwing, nutjob idea going. Yet here we sit wringing our hands and coming up with every excuse to hide under the covers. Guess I'm going to have to start spending $$$ on stickers to hold up our side.
Okay maybe a little offensive;)

First Amendment says you can do whatever you like along these lines. But it also doesn't say you won't face consequences from your speech! Given how common car break-ins are in many places these days, this just strikes me as an invite for someone to give this vehicle a try to see if an easy-to-steal gun could be acquired. I also agree with those who mention parking this in your driveway advertises that you are a gun owner. Freedom of speech includes freedom to not ...
Apparently, your First Amendment theory does not apply in this forum..... pretty sad!

How common are they? Do you have any stats to back that up?

Saw this today....not sure how I feel about this kind of advertising.....could be serving notice not to mess with, or asking for trouble....
I have the same stickers on my vehicle. I just put them on there because I love both brands. Nothing more than that

Ok, if someone can produce some empirical evidence showing that vehicles with gun decals/stickers get broken into more than vehicles without said devices I would be willing to discuss the matter. Anyone? Antidotal is not empirical.

Something young people (and others) should consider. "if you show it in public, don't be surprised if someone looks. And you can't control who's looking"

Beg pardon but I do not have actual numbered stats at hand but will say that in my immediate area car "break ins" seem more a crime of opportunity i.e. checking and finding car doors unlocked than a burglary. Seems to reason that other communities would have a similar issue.
Why would folks live in a community where something left in a vehicle is at risk of being stolen?
That would be the nature of society otherwise we'd all be hermits on a hill.
