Wanting to dress up a nice model 27 I have. Looking for a nice set of grips for it. KB isn’t taking new orders and Culina doesn’t appear to do any checkering from the looks of their website. What other sources are there for comparable quality craftsmanship custom grips?

I just received this pair of rosewood grips from Taiwan (ebay). They required some additional filing/fitting but they were worth the effort and are actually very nice...especially for the price.

Get on Spegel's list and wait, or find some Culina's you like and send them off to be checkered by someone else. The second hand market would be quicker, but you'll likely pay a little more and the options limited. When you have things made, you can get exactly what you want - it just takes time and money.

This is a set of Culinas that I sent off to have checkered, unfortunately from a very talented young man that is no longer doing the work. These were a gift for my dad, I had another set in red oak for myself that I should have sent at the same time but didn't, and when I finally reached out he indicated that he just didn't have the time anymore. That said, quite a few people out there on the web doing checkering work. Possibly even some in your area.

I have the same ones too, always bought on e bay. I like them a lot

Talk to Culina, I thought that they had somebody that they use. I found a like new set of Eagle walnut heritage grips on ebay and really like them, but the price is climbing.

Place an ad in the " want to Buy" section for what you are looking for.

I sent you a PM

M27 Grip choice

I've got Culina smooth Ebony Target Grips on my M27 3 1/2" NIB.

A 27 already has a lot going on externally...don't foul up the look with scrolls or checkering! I own around 8-10 sets of his grips going back to 2013....My two cents....

While I do like my Culina grips, some of the wood offerings from Hogue are quite attractive

I have a couple of great sets of checkered Pau Ferro but they are not near me at the moment and I have no photographs of them

These Klinsky stocks are made in the Czech Republic. Made of French Walnut, the fit and finish are superb. Not too common, I found these on Ebay. They're very similar to Nill's at about half the price.
