Sgt. Mike Viet Nam Humor

When our squadron was part of the Carrier Air Wing on USS Saratoga, I meant a Navy Master Chief. He had 30 years in at the time. He was crowing about this was his 18th Cruise. We thought he was nuts to do that many cruises.

Some people are gluttons for punishment. In late 1970 they were offering early outs. The choices were take an RA Warrant and go back to the RVN, take a direct to 2Lt and go back to the RVN, OR get out by 1 April, 1971. I got out 1 April.

Lam Son 719 kicked off Feb 1971. It was a real bad time for Army Aviation. Photo from 1969. NVA anti-aircraft artillery was wicked in Laos. 108 helicopters were lost and over 600 were damaged.

OK, enough of that. Back to the humor. ;)

In fairness, the typical junior enlisted, say E1-E4 range, is in an age group that tends to have more energy than sense. While this is useful in some ways, especially in the combat arms, it means that off-duty conduct can sometimes be a problem. One does not have to agree with how the military controls that, but sometimes the truth is just a bit rough and I have to defer to the judgment of the people who are stuck with addressing it.

I have been thinking about setting up a syndicated advice column like Ann Landers. I like to read them because it makes me appreciate my life and the fact that I don't have a problem telling people who aren't holding up their end to take a long walk on a short pier.

My recent favorite was the woman wanting to know what do do. They had bought thier daughter an $80,000+ Mercedes, but she had wanted one that was over a 100 grand. so the little princess kicked in the door. They were having it repaired but the daughter said she would wreck itt even worse if they didn't get her the one she wanted. Mom was wringing her hands needing advice. LMAO I would have advised her to pick up a pair of used shoes at Good Will and handed them to the little darlin and told her to start walking.

Left Hand Lugs on my Dodge

Back in the 50's some cars (Chrysler's for one) had left hand lug nuts on the left side of the car. I tightened the snot out of one trying to remove it before someone clued me in.

This brought back memories.

Left Hand Lugs on my Dodge were Stamped with a "L" .

Bekeart

Years ago when into WWII vehicles a friend bought a WC51 and called a couple of us complaining he could not get left side lug nuts off. Another friend and I went to the friends house and asked him what he was doing. He showed us trying to remove the lug nuts the wrong way. Needless to say he felt kinda dumb when we told him," turn it the other way".LOL

Somehow I don't think an all electric tank would get any better mileage than a gas one would. Also the batteries to move it as far as a tank of gas would, would probably outweigh the tank itself!

The solution is solar panels.
Might have issue making them with reactive plates and painting them with a camo pattern.
Oh yea, no Chinese panels, only US manufactured panels can be used.
Issue the order and we will figure it out in the field; isn't that usual way with a bureaucracy,.
