Pretty proud of this old girl. My 65 Buick Riviera. A friend took these with some REALLY nice photo equipment to hopefully get it featured in the Riviera Owner's Association magazine. Only has 65,000 miles with original drivetrain and interior. Wanted one of these since I saw pics of me as a toddler with my Dad's. Finally found this one last year in Branson,MO. Traded my 99 Corvette for it, and I just believe I came out on the good end of the deal. Enjoyed it for a year until some idiot plowed my left quarter panel while I was trying to make a left out of a median. Just got it back from the bodyshop in September after sourcing a good quarter and rear bumper in Texas. Car got hit so hard it shifted the body on the frame, wrinkling the right quarter some as well. Shop did a magnificent job; luckily, no frame damage. Those old GM X frames are TOUGH. Painted the car all over with base/clear, and I think it just came out awesome. Anyway, just wanted to show off my buddy's excellent photos.

Wooo baby!! She's a beauty. Seeing your ride brings back great memories. Enjoy and good luck!!

That exact car is my favorite car of all time, since I first drove one when they were new. Back then, the still under construction Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway was the best super-slab around, and I got to open it up there one day. :D

It had the most comfortable seats I ever sat in, and I was in awe how smoothly and effortlessly it continued to accelerate. Felt like it would never stop pulling. Definitely earned it's nickname "The Banker's Hotrod".

The one I drove was this color, and had wire wheels.

That's a sexy ride!! I love the Buicks from that era. My first car was a '64 Skylark that my dad bought me when I was 14-15yrs old. I wish I still had it.

That is one of the 360hp Grand Sports. Only made about 3300 with that option, and this one is in Sahara Gold. The wire wheels on the one you drove would have actually been the optional wire covers. So many have the Formula V wheels like mine and this one have now, but there were a ton of them with the wire covers as well as the standard wheel cover. Kinda wish mine was a Gran Sport too, with the big 425 and dual Carter AFB carbs, but I sure can't complain about the power with the "base" 401 Nailhead.

Mark, you need to drive that up to Jackson in two weeks for the gun show. nice little road trip. Grayfox and I will have tables there. lee[/QUOTE
I may do it, Lee. Got to put brake shoes all around on it this week, then it should be ready to go. Tammy and I drive it to McNairy County all the time to see her folks, so Jackson isn't much of a stretch. You would think brake shoes would last longer than 52 years. :) Haven't been to a show in Jackson in many years; be nice to see you as well.

Very sweet Riviera.
But have to ask, is it a 401 or 425?

Mine has the base 401. The 425 with a single carb was an option, as well as the 425 with the dual Carter AFB carbs. The dual carb version was usually seen with the Grand Sport package, but was also available with a standard Riviera. Very rare in that configuration; only a few hundred produced as opposed to 3300 or so Grand Sports. A standard Riv with the dual quad 425 an wire wheel covers in a dull color like Shell Beige would be a HOT sleeper!

Nice ride,,,Very nice! ;)
Always loved my Oldsmobile's but the Buick's were next in line!

Beautiful, just beautiful.

A textbook example from the They-Don't-Make-'Em-Like-That-Any-More school of automotive design.

My Dad had a Buick Roadmaster right after WWII. Don't remember what
year it was. It was a straight eight. Remember Dad saying it would pass
anything on the road except the gas station. I've had several Buicks too.
Have one now. Nowhere near as pretty as yours though. Very nice!

when i 1st saw this Model Riviera as a youngster the looks just about bowled me over. Unable to afford one for many years I finally ended up buying a 97 model. Not a eight but a supercharged six, it still would cruise effortlessly all day long as just about any speed I desired. Additionally, this was one o f the most trouble free cars I ever owned. I too remain a Buick fan.

The father of a friend of mine had one of those. Pretty rare in my country. In the 90s it was kept in a warehouse that belonged to him and was out of use. One day the roof collapsed over it. It left a small dent on the hood.:D

Almost forgot. It had the 425cu
