Sharp Edge on Hammer Spur

Found and bought a like new 686-4 . The case hardened hammer spur has a very sharp rear edge that after about a dozen cocking’s my thumb has an abrasion. Should I give it a careful stoning on the sharp part or just live with it ? Or maybe try lightly tapping down the sharp part ? It’s just at the very edge that faces you and yes it’s sharp .

I would stone it.

Stone the offending edge. It is easier to control a stone then a peen.

A Hard Arkansas Stone would fit the bill. I find that a perfect size for this kind of work is 1/4' X 1/4" X 6". Dan's Whetstones sells them in all sizes.
