Sheild battery problems

Hey guys, I am reading all of these issues that are being discussed here about the sheild having problems with going into battery. Have any of you that actually expeirenced the issue contacted S&W so they can start working on a fix for the problem???

Guys please call S&W and let them know what the problem is so they can fix it...I really want a sheild....LOL

Even the guys over at "Brick"talk think it is a non issue. One guy admitted his brick and Kahr did it also.

The original guy put a loaded unholstered firearm in his pocket. Barrel obstructions would be more of a concern and of course and unprotected trigger.

I agree. I started that other thread just to see if anyone else's Shield could do it even though I thought it to be a non-issue. Another thread about the same topic isn't needed. To be honest, if you want to see what S&W says then just see what the OP says on that other forum when he gets his gun back from the factory.

I am sorry I am beating a dead horse but this does concern me. I see that most of you responding are not law enforcement but I carry a gun everyday as a cop. If there are issues with the gun,why woud I want to purchase and carry a gun that can come out of battery while being carried in an ankle holster or pocket holster. I need my guns to work flawlessly everytime, as my life depends on it. So I appoligise that I am beating a dead horse as you are calling it. I guess my best bet is to simply stick with my S&W 642 and to avoid purchasing a shield all together.

You are obviously not that experienced with semi autos. If you use a proper holster, this won't happen. The shield is a bit big for an ankle holster. For that get the S&W Bodyguard.380. No worries what so ever. We are just as concerned for our lives as you are even if you are a cop.

So dont buy one if it worries you this much... .move on......

You are right I have only been carrying revolvers for 20 years professionally and a semi auto full time for 15 years..
