Shield 1.0 Apex trigger problems?

I was thinking about getting the apex duty kit with the aluminum trigger. I heard a few people claim that the trigger will not fire unless your finger is in the exact right position which would be difficult under stress. My local gunshop has a Shield 2.0 with an Apex Aluminum trigger for sale. So, I dry fired it from every angle possible and I see no problem. The one person that mentioned this claimed that this was more of a problem for people with large hands. Even with my X large hands, I hand no troubles. My finger takes up most of the trigger. The reason that I mention this is because I am thinking about getting the duty kit but I am not sure if I want the aluminum trigger. The trigger felt great.

"Drop in" triggers are not all 100% drop in. Parts may need some kind of fitting. That's not an issue with your finger needing to be in an exact place. It's that the back of the trigger safety in apex triggers may need to be filed down slightly.

I have the Apex aluminum trigger on 3 M&Ps. Flat faced one required a fair amount of fitting re over travel but that has nothing to do with finger placement. On the way to fitting I did get it to the "just barely breaking" point and could fully press the trigger without dropping the sear. But a few more swipes and all went well. No different than a 1911 trigger with overtravel screw. Fine line between "just barely" and dependable.

So long as the overtravel and that loop adjustment is set up correctly, no problems.

If it’s supposedly finger placement, then fitting/adjustment fixes this, so it’s not finger placement.

My standard poly, curved trigger will do that if I don't position my finger properly (ride high).
