I know this has been discussed before, but I can't seem to get a coherent answer to the Storm Lake barrel availability. I realize I can't use (or get) a S&W 9 barrel for the conversion, but is the Storm Lake conversion available and has anybody actually bought it and used it. Let the flames begin!

Storm Lake keeps promising 'Soon', but they've been promising that for over a Year.

If you're truly interested, email them and they will add you to their list of people to send their Press release to.

I bought my Storm Lake 40 to 9 conversion barrel plus 2 mags on Midway yesterday. Looks like they're still available.

Storm Lake Conversion Barrel S&W M&P 40 S&W to 9mm Luger 1 16 Twist

Till 1/17, Save another $10 for spending $100 using promo code JAN10SAVE or buy a few mags and save $20 on $200 with promo code JAN20SAVE.

Edit: This is for a FS40>9 conversion not for a Shield. Sorry, misread the post.

The OP is looking for a Shield barrel and I believe that the above link is for a compact model S&W.

Oh wow, I feel silly. Yes, you're right. It was actually for a FS but regardless I misread the post entirely.

I also have a Shield. Got tired of waiting for a proper conversion barrel so traded the Shield 40 for a Shield 9 since I like the way 9 shot in this size pistol better.

Haven't seen a third party conversion barrel yet but I did buy a 9mm factory barrel from G and R Tactical I believe.

How long ago was that though? S&W hasn't sold Shield barrels to anyone for at least a Year (maybe two).
