That does look like a good deal. I saw the Shirld 9 or 40 for $379 at Sportsman Superstore.
I don't know how a local gun store can keep their lights on when you can shop the internet

They suck us in with the low margin stuff and then tempt us with the accessories that have 100% mark up.

I only paid $349 for mine in the store....figured around this price was about normal now.
I got mine for $379 with an extra 8 round magazine. They told me it come with 3 so when I opened it up and it only had 2 they went and got me one. I have bought several items from this store and they have always looked out for me. I'm getting a glock 19 or 17 from them next week for $425 with the leo package. I wished S&W and Springfield would get one of those programs. I would love a XDm compact but can't see paying the extra $250 for it.
I just looked at the link and noticed it was a one day only deal. I signed up for their email and they send me great deals everyday. If they reopen the range near home I'm going to build my AR with their parts.

That is a GREAT price! Were it a 9mm I'd be tempted. Already have a Glock 23. I shot this gun before buying the glock and in my opinion it is right there on the verge of "too small" a platform for .40 cal. Not enough girth to absorb any recoil.

LGS here in MA received an order of about 200 Shields. Selling for $369 while this supply lasts. He says price will go back up on future orders.
I have had the Shield 40 since 2/12 and find it very very manageable. I just purchased the Shield 9 and shot side by each. Yes there is a difference in recoil but no where near what you would imagine
