just trying to help out. I am not a fan of theirs either, but they have what I, and a bunch of other people, have been looking for. not saying a darn thing in their defense, but they have the mags I have been desperately trying to find. my shield is my back up and I count on it for my safety...

$45 for a 7 or 8 round mag...no thanks, but appreciate the heads up.

sorry for trying to help. needed mags for my back up gun. gotta qualify and HAD to get a couple. try and find them anywhere. I know that 44 sucks but I gotta do what I gotta do. I've had a post in the wanted to buy and have not gotten a single reply. got to do my HR218, and these will help. I work at a LGS part time, and none of the distributers have had any in months.

Just got my 9mm shield 7rd magazine from Botach $29.95 discount for buying more than 1. Couldnt be happier with there service.

Avoid the companies that price gouged in the past. Those companies are now desperate for business. Let them go out of business and make room for better run companies.

Just sign-up to be notified of when the 8 round Shield magazine will be in stock at Grabagun or MidwayUSA. They offer fair prices and affordable shipping.

e.g. Grabagun has the 7 round 9MM Shield magazine in stock now for about $29 + $2 shipping:
Smith and Wesson Magazine Shield 9mm 7rd Online Gun Store

G,

I think your intentions are admirable and I would bet that the others would agree. Unfortunately you are the "shot" messenger here. You do what you have to do and don't think for a minute you owe an explanation.

I agree...I ordered the extended round magazine from S&W because they are priced at par with what non-gougers are selling them for...But I haven't heard anything from S&W and e-mailed them a couple times last week...Not happy with their ordering service and hoping to get it soon...

Well, call me un-principled, because I ordered a couple last night. 40 is half what I saw them priced for on the 'net yesterday, and I don't have time to wait months to save a few $ or keep my money out of someone else's pocket. I'm being required to give up my revolver for "any" modern Smith M&P 9 or 45, so it's a tax deduction for me anyway.
I'd never heard of 44mag before, so I do thank the OP for the info!

After waiting almost 6 months for the S&W store to ship my 9mm Shield mag order, I finally gave up and was glad to get some extra mags from 44mag. They processed my order promptly and the mags are new, original S&W. I'm really glad to finally have a couple of extra 8-round mags for my new Shield.

I will be so glad when all this ammo, mags, and other gun-related shortages ease up. Ammo availability is getting better in my area, except for 22 rimfire.

I just ordered this week from 44Mag a 15 rd 40 mag. The price was 24.99 plus $5.00 shipping. I figured, why not, the price was good and the mags are suppose to be S&W mags. Well, they charged my CC within hours of the order so I figured they would ship it that day. Turns out the charge the CC when the order is made and ship when they want or are ready. It took 3 more days for the order to ship via USPS. I emailed them this morning asking why they charged my CC before shipping and if that was their practice, if the item wasn't shipped shortly I would dispute the charge.

I get an email back saying the following:

"We are experiencing a large volume of orders and shipping is delayed as was clearly stated when you ordered. We process orders strictly in the order received. It looks like your order was processed this morning and you should have a shipping confirmation shortly. Regarding your email if demands and threats are how you conduct yourself please take your business elsewhere in the future."

This was my "demands and threats":

Is it your practice to charge CC BEFORE you ship? Please let me know when you are shipping this item. If not VERY shortly I will call my CC company to dispute charge.

While I have never done business with them before, I can tell you I won't again, even to save a few $.

Here was my response to their email above:

No demand, no threats, just honest and timely shipping and credit charges are all I expect. If you can't do them both at the same time, then I will take my business elsewhere. It took you three days to put this item in the mail, but less than a few hours to charge my CC. That is not how good customer oriented business is done.

Thank you for letting me know that my money should be spent elsewhere..... it was a pleasure learning that your rep is what I had heard, QUESTIONABLE, but I tried anyway to ignore what I read, now I can add facts to the information that is out there regarding your approach to business.

One less customer to worry about.

I'm sure they won't miss your business. No one likes dealing with problem customers who don't understand the basics of internet retail.

I would easily estimate that 90% of internet retailers charge the CC at the time of sale. The average for for processing and shipping is anywhere from 1-3 days . There are very few that I have dealt with that state if you purchase before X time it will ship today.

All the reputable vendors charge only when parts are processed for shipping. If they charge and place your order on "backorder" cancel the order and have your CC Company cancel payment!

Wow. That's a pretty strict standard, Mike. Hope it works for you down the road.
Well, I got the same email after ordering on the 12th. I checked the site daily for shipping. I got an email on the 17th that the items had shipped. They're scheduled to be here the 21st.
Not unacceptable to me. I need the mags I bought, but not immediately, so 9 days is not an issue... I picked the cheapest shipping, too, so I wasn't expecting overnight.
Sorry to go against the prevailing attitude but if I need something in the future and 44Mag is the only one that has it, I'm buying.

Exactly. I ordered mine on the 13th and got an email about the high volume of orders and it might take a couple of extra days to process. I received an email on the 17th with the shipping information an expected delivery of 21st.

8 days is a completely acceptable timeline when dealing with internet purchases.

I never complained about the timing of the shipping, until I saw that they charged my credit card 3 days before they shipped the item. That is the practice of a poorly run, most likely undercapitalized company. A sale is recorded when the title passes to the buyer, not when the order is made. Therefore they shouldn't expect my money until the item is shipped.

If you don't mind paying for something before its shipped, good for you. The companies that get my business all charge when the item ships, that is both an accepted business practice and it follows GAAP. This item was not special ordered so they should not expect to be paid days before they bother to ship the item.

Nope, don't mind at all. I'm not unrealistic in my expectations. Like I said earlier 90-95% of all online retailers charge your card at time of purchase.
