So I finished up the install yesterday.
Some notes about the trigger.

The pre-driven pin that must be driven into the existing trigger bar was a PITA hammer in. I've installed several FSS kits in the past and this Shield Trigger was by far the hardest I've done. I used a 24 Oz dead blow hammer and 1/8 inch punch.

Honing is required around the radius of the hole that sits in the trigger. This is to prevent binding. YMMV.

The trigger guard opening also required a little honing using a fine diamond file, since the left and lateral portions of the frame would bind the trigger. I removed 1/64 inches of material. Barely noticeable, but makes a big difference in fit. Again, YMMV.

The trigger bar loop required a minor adjustment by opening it 1/32 inches. I used feeler guages. Without this adjustment, the trigger bar loop would not engage the sear to release the firing spring. Thus, it would be a dead trigger. This minor adjustment, just like the FSS, concludes with a very nice, crisp click.

There is significant reduction in pretravel. The combination of this trigger with the DCAEK is 1000s times better than the stock trigger assembly. Reset is much more pronounced, too.

Got some range time today. 750 flawless rounds, no issues at all. Zero. (I had to eventually wear gloves since my hands were going raw)

I'm comfortable enough to carry it.

How did this affect the trigger pull weight?

I can't comment for the original poster, but my trigger pull weight went from 4 lbs 14 oz to 4 lbs 9 oz. I didn't install this kit looking for a reduction necessarily, but wanted it to be closer in feel to my full sized M&P with the Apex FSS kit.

I too had to make all the same adjustments as the original poster (this was very well written and pretty much my same experience to a T), and while it took longer than previous Apex installs I'm happy so far. Just need a break in the weather to put rounds down range.

I had to open the trigger bar loop as well for the same reasons.

One thing I did notice was that the center mounted hinged trigger safety did protude out more than on my full sized M&P.

I'm waiting for my trigger delivery! The apex install video explains the areas needing honing and the polishing of the trigger bar.
