Finally found a new Shield 9mm today ($419), and would like to know what you find is the best CC holster and best method of carry. ? Love the trigger on it, kinda surprised me. I am a Smith revolver guy

The "best" is subjective. What I think is best others may not agree with. With that being said, I carry my Shield in a Desantis Pocket-Tuk. I think it's too big for a pocket holster but perfect for IWB carry.

Subjective for sure. I was interested in what each shield owner found worked for them.

Christmas came early for the dailey family.
I pocket conceal my Shield in the Desantis The Nemesis model # N38BJE1Z0
Some will say she is not a pocket weapon and that is fine. I did change out my stock sights. The rear sight would catch on my pocket due to the sharp edges.
If you take a look at my XS Big Dot Sights the rear is low and angled in such a way that quick pocket draw is a breeze.

I've tried the RKBA dual clip, Pj holster , Garret Industries Silent Thunder and the Alatour hybrid. All very nice holsters, but keep going back to the Garret. The Garrett is top notch quality pretty comfortable. I would recommend any of these. The alatour is super comfy and very well made, just not for me.

I took some pictures of my Shield in my pocket.
As you can see when I am standing the weapon is not noticeable.
I raised my gun leg to where the pants where tight. Still no big deal.
Sitting down you can see the outline of the weapon but at my work most people don't look in that direction.
Honestly, I have been packing my Shield for 1 year at work and no one has asked me if I am packing.
The Shield is too heavy for jogging or biking. I use a fanny pack when I bike to transport my Shield in pocket holster. I have never used a belly band but one on this forum recommended the pistol wear brand.

Looks like I need some new slacks. If you look real close you can make out the muzzle through my pants. I believe if you act natural people are not going to notice especially men. Heck I can't tell you the shoes my co worker wore today and I was with them for 10 hours.

I prefer the raven phantom and everyone I know that has seen and tried mine has wound up getting one. I'm not saying that everyone likes them I'm sure someone out there may not. But I've seen people conceal carry OWB a FS 45 with the raven phantom and just a t shirt without being able to notice it. There are a lot of good holsters out there. It just depends what works for you.

I use a N82 Tactical, the professional model. I have no comfort issues while carrying, the suede backing can be directly in contact with my skin and I find no issues. It's all going to be what feels right to you, and covers all your needs. That's just my $.02

Remora ART RFT. I like the reinforced top for reholstering. The option of going from appendix to hip carry works for me. The Shield hides exceptionally well in appendix for my build.

My regular cc holster is the Winthrop. Simply a great quality IWB leather holster, and at a very reasonable price - around $50 bucks. Extremely comfortable for all day carry. They are great people to work with also. As I use a very large and thick belt, they recommended the larger loops with unsnap only at the top.
For summer carry, when I'm wearing only shorts without a belt, I go back and forth between my Shield (in the Remora) and my 642 in a Don Hume pocket holster. When I grab my Shield (in the Remora), I most often carry it in the pocket, which works fine just as long as I wear shorts with big pockets. It IS a bit heavy though for the pocket, so I only grab it when I am making a quick trip to the store. I wouldn't want to have to carry it all day in the pocket. I've tried it IWB a few times and while it seems to stay in place as long as I don't do a lot of bending over, I still haven't gotten totally trusting of that method of carry w/o it being secured by a belt through loops.

Pocket holster. If you use IWB or OWB, might as well get a "duty size" pistol.

I use a N82 Tac Pro.
In reference to the quote above, I find a big diff in comfort between carrying my Shield IWB vs what I had carried before (S&W 6906). Thinner is better.

Sticky Holster for me.
IWB cross draw works well for me. I forget I'm carrying all the time...
Donmco1 How does it feel when reholstering one handed? Does the opening collapse after the gun has been removed? I like the look of your holster.
No it does not collapse at all. I carry cross-draw so to re-holster my left hand clears my cover shirt and my left thumb rests on the belt clip as I insert the weapon. The adjustable cant makes it even better! Also, it is tuck-able. Great question. The 1st holster I bought for the Shield did collapse making it impossible to re-holster.

I have a drawer full of holsters like I guess many of us do but when I ordered my N82tactical pro I never looked back. It has a twist style retention system (I wanted some sort of retention) and its extremely comfortable. I also am impatient and did not want to wait for another crossbreed but they are nice as well

Back when I got my Shield, holsters were not out yet for it so I went with a Galco STO286. Its for a Glock 26 but fits fine. Its an IWB holster that I wear most of the time when warm out. Although I find it more comfortable to just loop my belt around it and carry it between my pants and belt instead of inside my pants. Another I use if its cooler out is a Desantis made for the Shield. Its a 3 slotted pancake one with a thumb break. I like it for now.

I have a picture of your holster.
I tried the Desantis Soft Tuc for the Shield and the Galco IWB for the Glock 26 has a better fit.

Ditto on the FoxX Trapp. Mine is on right now...I think...I hardly notice it's there. Great product...great price...great customer service!
