I bought a Shield 9mm with the Crimson Trace 489G green laserguard for my wife several months ago to replace her nose diving Kahr CM9 that Kahr could not get to run 100%. She loves my M&P40c with CT lasergrip and while she can use sights very well, she wanted her new carry gun to have a laser as well. Problem is, the activation button falls right in between her index and middle finger, so she has to run an awkward and slightly low grip to activate it. Anyone tried or know how much the laserguard can be undercut to slide her grip up slightly? The plastic for the laserguard pushes your grip a bit lower than I like so would be nice to undercut it a bit. I'm just unsure how much material I can actually remove before it just falls apart or I hit control wires running to button. The plastic seam where it attaches is a bit sharp as well so was hoping to smooth it out while I was at it.

I do have a Shield 40 with the same CT-489G coming any day now and may attempt to smooth the seams on it first and go from there.
