Has anybody experienced the factory sights on the shield to be off so bad it needed to be sent back to get adjusted, or are they pretty much poa?

My 9mm is dead on with using a center hold, not a 6 o'clock hold.

Mine are perfect. Are you shooting low and left on a new shield? if so it will improve as you get used to the gun and learn it. Seems everyone shoots low and left on a new gun.

I also started out low and left, but learned to control that short barrel with ALOT of downrange. Now I'm dead on from 7-15yds. any farther and i'm all over but still in the black.Short barrels will do that to you,but not complaining since I knew the Shield's effectiveness was for close range. Keep on shooting her(but don't try to stretch out to far)

Watch your bullet weight. Heaver bullets and higher powered loads tend to shoot higher out of the same gun.

Mine are also right on with center hold. Try sand bagging it or someone else shoot it to see if yours might have an issue.

My rear sight looks a smidge off center to the right upon arrival, but I didn't notice any effect when shooting it.

My buddy and I both put a hundred rounds in my shield the other day, and we both shoot low left as do others... I need to put a few more hundred through 'er....

Sometimes it's good to shoot a bit "weak hand/eye". That'll tell you something about the sights.. as will shooting from a good pistol rest.. Ron

Same here, lots of lead down range and dry firing to overcome jerking the trigger and anticipating. Being left handed, my shots were low right. I now begin my range sessions with 10 rounds of dry fire to to release my anticipation of the shot. I am now able to put my shots out to 35 ft comfortably.
Hang in there and keep safe.
