This might be of interest to some Shield owners. When I first got my Shield (over 2,000 rounds ago) like most I started looking for a holster. I tried a IWB Kydex holster (Alienware) but didn't like the fact I would have to buy a size larger pants, and I do like leather.
I wanted a OWB leather holster.

For my prior carry gun I had a holster made by RG Leather and it worked well. But at the time they didn't have a mold for the Shield. I finally settled on a holster from Winthrop Leather and it fit snug to the body. A few months ago I purchased a Crimson Trace Laser for the Shield and this required a new holster. Winthrop didn't have a holster yet for the Shield & CT combo. CT gave a link for the DeSantis Mini Scabbard holster made for the Shield/CT so I ordered it. I didn't like it, it was not as concealed as I liked and printed badly. I returned it for a refund.
Then I found that Wright Leather made a holster for the Shield with the CT. It fit very well, secure, was as concealable as the one from Winthrop.

Below is photos of each holster and how it fits with my body type, which as you can see I am well nourished.

Nice report. Great pictures. Is the CT from the S&W factory or an add on?

I ordered the CT from OpticsPlanet.com | Hunting, Shooting & Tactical Gear when they had a sale on them. My wife wanted a laser for her Glock 43, so I got one for my Shield while they were on sale. I really like the Shield, over 2,000 rounds through it without a problem. My prior 9mm was a SCCY, which hold more rounds but I found I was more accurate with the Shield. We shoot together at the range and one thing the CT revealed was who had a more steady aim, my wife does. But when rapid firing I was still better at staying on target. Sure makes for an expensive "date day" but lots of fun.

I realize this thread is a few weeks old but figured I'd add more laser / holster info. Hope it helps someone. I have CT lasers on two other pistols and decided to try a Viridian green laser on my Shield 9mm. Once installed it looks like it came from S&W built into the pistol. I really like the green over the CT red lasers so far. This laser also has Reactive 5 (ECR) which means it turns on and off automatically in and out of the holster. So far I really like it. It can also be turned off easily.

Ordered mine with a OWB belt holster for $146 and I think they also offer IWB as well. They have the magnet activation of course. Anyway, this basic holster works fine once you know how to properly wear it. Many people don't like it but I don't see much of anything wrong with it other than it is noisy. I ordered an Alien Gear belt slide holster and it's exactly what I was looking for. Comfortable, secure and appears quality made. That's the route I took with my Shield. Not trying to take the thread over - just adding to it. Good luck!

Thanks for the update. When I was looking at laser's I didn't see the one from Reactive. I would have preferred the green laser, but all they had in stock at the sale price was the red one. Nice write up.
