Just picked up my new Shield. I was hoping to get it in the 40 but couldn't wait so I got the 9. What a great weapon. Not too many holster makers geared up to make holsters yet but came across MULTI HOLSTERS who has custom kydex holsters. Great quality, great customer service and a great return policy. I wear mine in an IWB in Holstex, what a cool look and comfortable as can be.

I got my Crossbreed Super Tuck in the mail about a week ago after about a two week wait. I ordered it without the combat cut and did that myself. Great holster but I do wish the rear of the holster was finished leather like my Minotaur MTAC instead of raw cowhide!

Just got my forward cant stage 3 holster kit in from Old Faithful. Time to break it in but I'll tell you one thing, I'd never bother with a CBST again. Cheaper, thicker leather, thicker kydex, tension adjustable, 50 year warranty (basically lifetime, especially for a holster), money back guarantee and replaceable shells.

My holster from hiddenhybridholsters.com arrived late last week. Excellent craftsmanship and very comfortable. I couldn't be happier with it.

Thanks

Glad to know about this. Thanks! :) Now all I have to figure out is what kind of leather. Any comments would be appreciated.

I've got a CompTac Minotaur for my 9c, after test fitting the shield it looks pretty good. I've got a PJholster on order as well.

I carry IWB in a tuckable Holstex holster that I make.

I got the standard natural leather with my kit: Holster Kits | Old Faithful Holsters

I have a CBST made with horse hide but it's a thinner type as well is the type from OF. I know of the differences with soaking up oils and sweat ,but any review I've read about the OF holsters in natural leather are excellent. One reviewer got the horsehide version and wishes he got the natural instead.

I treat all of my leather goods with dressing and keep up with it on a regular basis so it makes no difference to me. This is a good practice no matter what type of leather it is.

The dressing I use is here: Pecard - Retail: + Leather Dressings A little bit goes a long way

Check out fightngear.com, this guy makes his holsters out of horsehide or leather with kydex. He only charges $40 plus $10 s&h, that's about $20 cheaper than you'll find any hybrid holster. He doesn't have the mold for the shield yet but he said he'll have it within the next 30 days.

No disrespect to the guy or toward you for posting this, but I'm not sure why any of these hybrid holster makers would use rivets over screws except to make the consumer buy an entirely new holster instead of just the kydex. Having the ability to alter tension without modifying the kydex with a heat gun and using the same backing for different guns or a new kydex color should you choose seems like a no brainier to me.

I agree with what you said but the guy guarantees his work and says if any rivets do come out or the holster fails in any way without you altering the holster he will replace it. I did just check out Old Faithful Holsters and might have to go with one of those. I just think the one I suggested is a viable option if you don't want to spend close to $100 on a holster when it's all said and done.

gynstrom, is that a "standard" or a "tuckable" IWB holster with the "over the belt clip on loop?"
PJ's is standard holster over the belt clip. I seldom go tuckable I am too old for a fast draw. When I do, I carry my PM9 in a Garretts Silent thunder.

Thanks,

Now just need to decide between PJ's and an Old Faithful holster.
I can't speak to Old Faithful style but I chose the PJ because it goes on and off in one second. I like the simplicity of the design. If you are going to tuck, I think the Old Faithful may be the way to go. I just am not a fan of the two clip design on a lightweight gun. You really can't go wrong with either style.
I will tell you to spend more on a gunbelt than a holster. They make all the difference in the world. There are plenty of good makers out there. These three are mine.

I can second the Old Faithful holster. I went with horsehide and a stage 1 D-I-Y kit. Here is a link to my pics and a video or two. You may have to right click and open the vids in a new window to play properly. I am more than pleased with mine.

I had a Remora for a Sig P238. Got rid of the Sig and got the 40 Shield. It was a very tight fit in the Remora, so I began stretching it a little at a time and now it fits like a glove.:D

"The holster store" in st.cloud,Florida has leather iwb holsters for 20.00
Fits like a glove:D
