Shield plus feed ramp issue

Just picked up my new PC Shield Plus 9mm and it appears that the feed ramp is damaged. I have contacted SW and will see how this goes!

Shields up

I like the New S&W Shield 9mm Plus. I recently
got the chance to handle and closely inspect the
Plus.

I was also fortunate to compare the Plus with the
regular Shield. Both are nice. The Plus Grip is slightly
wider (side to side) and trigger is better.
The magazines width had the same comparison.

Either one would make a good close range
defensive Pistol.

Pick up my Shield Plus Performance model tomorrow, looking forward to it but have seen some owners having some issues too, but the ones I saw could be ammo related more than anything.

I hope that they get you up and going quickly. The one time in the past I had to use the warranty service they were great.

I got my PC model about a month ago. Since then I've put about 400-500 rounds through it. Ive used factory ammo and my target reloads without one failure. I'm extremely happy with mine. I hope you get similar performance.

That looks like a blem / reject. IMO they should just send you a new barrel.

Did you shoot it? I don't blame you if you didn't. Good luck!

I own a Shield Plus and I am about to relocate to Massachusetts. I just learned that a magazine that carries 10+ rounds is considered a high capacity and is considered illegal to have. I know S&W offers a 9 round magazine for the Shield, but I have not seen anything for the Shield Plus. Does any one know if the 9 round Shield magazine will fit the Plus?

RogueRN, magazines for the Shield 1.0 and 2.0 will not fit the Shield Plus. It is my understanding that the Shield Plus is available with a 10 round magazine for those in magazine capacity restricted states.

I'd just offer up the 13 round mag for trade for a 10 round mag before you move. Someone in a free state will take you up on the offer.

I have not seen a Plus with two 10 round mags at any store locally. Shops are just taking the 13 out of the box and selling with just 1 mag.

Got my pc shield plus last week finally got to shoot it one failure to eject and one failure to feed in 50 rounds Going to contact Smith Monday morning

If it were me, I would put a few more rounds (SAAMI pressures) through that pistol before sending it back to S&W.

New guns are usually tight, and need some rounds to get loosened up. Also, make sure you're gripping the pistol properly, and not touching the slide, or the slide release. The new Shield Plus has a pretty good track record so far.

Moving to MA

@Rogue,

I used to live in MA ... yup ... you're limited to 10-rounds. For mag capacity, MA permanently adopted 1994 AWB rules. Be weary of Atty Gen Maura Healey. She makes David Chipman look sane. If you're settling anywhere near the Boston area, check out Four Seasons Firearms in Woburn. They're not the cheapest around, but they'll give you a square deal.

The Shield Plus gun carries 10+1 (ten in the magazine, one in the chamber). The magazine is 10 NOT 10+1, so it is not high capacity and perfectly legal.

Possible mag trade?

I would trade you my Shield Plus 10 round mag for your 13 if that's helpful. Check your PM.
