Shield Rebate Rip Off

I checked that website for the last few weeks and my Info never came up. I checked the mail yesterday and it was there. I submitted my rebate online on June 28

That took a "LONG" time, my 1st showed up after 5 weeks my 2nd mailed 1 week after 1st has not yet shown up!

I filed for mine on June 25th. About 3 weeks ago they finally started saying they had received it. This morning it is saying that payment was sent on the 14th of this month. Others have said it's taken almost a couple of weeks to receive once it's shipped. It should be about 12 weeks total by the time I get it. I would like to point out that it is actually not likely that this was all an evil plot for S&W to "scam" you out of $75. I do think that Molino, the company actually responsible for sending the rebate checks, is not very efficient.

I received my rebate yesterday for the S&W Shield 9mm that I purchased in May of this year. :)

Received my 75.00 rebate check today.
Sent in on line 6-23-17
No confirmation that they had received it until some time around the end of August when it showed up on Milano site.
Check shipped 9-8-17.
Happy to get it

If you get it straightened out, watch your mail very closely. The check is mailed in a tiny plain white envelope with a return address you've never heard of. I'm sure a few rebate checks have been tossed in the garbage ;):D

Good advice from OLDSTER. Ever since I thew away a check about 30 years ago that came in an envelope like you describe, I at least open all mail, even stuff that looks like junk, before tossing.

Did you call them up to get it worked out ? That would have been my immediate next step.

Sometimes people will send in a bogus receipt form. They take down a serial number, make up a fake sales receipt and send it in. Check to see if it didn't happen to you. Don't blame Smith & Wesson. They have issued over 250,000 rebates.

Yup, just received mine in today's mail (submitted on-line around the end of June), came in a small approx 3 1/2 by 6 1/2 inch envelope, with return address of MPS, Inc, Cinnaminson (is that anything like cinnamon), NJ, definitely gave the appearance of junk mail. I would bet that many of these get thrown out not realizing it is a mini-check in there.

Dumb Question, Bodyguard Rebate?

I've read about the Shield rebate, any for the Bodyguard? I'm guessing no?

I got a letter regarding my rebate today...
MPC Inc said they were denying my rebate due to "Invalid Receipt", when I had included my receipt from PSA that had all the required information. (heck, it even had my Visa last 4# !)

Good job Smith and Wesson, you scammed me out of $75.
Enjoy it. Guess what brand I won't be buying in the future?
hint: [American Outdoor Brands Corp.]

I purchased my Shield on May 30th from PSA and just got my check yesterday, I just looked at the copy of the receipt from PSA and it has all the information you said your receipt had. The only difference is I (HAND WROTE THE SERIAL # OF THE GUN ON MY RECEIPT) before submission. PSA sends you a separate confirmation for shipping which includes the serial #. The receipt does not include the serial #. My guess is this mistake for non payment could possibly be on you and not Milano.

I agree 100% with the above, when i bought my Shield from "Gunbuyer" i got a receipt which had last 4 digits of my Credit card and did list the make and cal. and when i actually received the Gun it had an "Invoice " which also had the "Serial No." and i made sure that was what i sent in!

So S&W did not "Screw" You out of anything, but you  simply did not include all the required Info, so don't bitch because you messed up and simply sent in the Correct/required copy and all will be well!

after filling out the rebate form on line, I called s&w, asked about rebate. Was told it would take 8-12 wks before being issued a check. wth? I was told by s&w the reason was because cabellas takes a long time to send s&w the money for the purchace. And people wonder why some go to Indiana to purchase guns. cabellas by me is in cook county,Ill. I will wait for the weeks to go by, but I also think it' a ripoff.

How in the He-l is it a "Rip-Off" ! You will in about 3 months get the Rebate, every rebate i ever entered said just like this one 8-12 weeks!

This is "Normal"!

PSA info is confusing and the long delay before things happen at Milano doesn't help. My first two Shields from PSA arrived with nothing in the box as far as paperwork. I shot a pic of the website order page and laid it on the two pistol boxes with serial numbers visible and hoped that would work since the serial number isn't shown on the webpage. A month later nothing had popped up on the website so for my next lot of pistols from PSA I instead included a tag that came with the pistols showing serial numbers but none of my info as buyer. One of those four submissions was just rejected yesterday for lack of proper receipt(but I don't know if that is for one or all four pistols since they didn't say and didn't list a serial number).

As the deadline for filing the rebate was approaching at the end of July and nothing had yet been posted to the Milano website, I resubmitted the last four pistols again using the screenshot and boxes ploy(my first two PSA pistols using this method had by then been approved and paid along with two from Whitakers that had proper receipts from the start). That would have been July 30th and now there's all sorts of things posted to the Milano website. They show my first four pistols accepted and $75 each(never have showed a shipping date for payment but those four checks have cashed).

As for the four pending rebates, they now show one denied that I'm guessing relates to the rejection letter I got yesterday and five more showing 'accepted' and $75. It can't be five since there are only four pistols and four serials but whatever they do will be done. If I get more rebate checks I'm happy. If I don't I'm less happy but not surprised. Through an abundance of honor, if I receive five more rebate checks I'll not cash one of them.

PSA's invoice/lack thereof and Milanos two month wait for posting, three month wait for payment has made this all much more complicated than it needs to be but so far,....fingers crossed,....it's been working out.

Oh, btw, the Milano rejection letter said DO NOT RESUBMIT ONLINE, but too late,.....I did that over seven weeks ago. I don't see any reason to respond to the rejection letter with a receipt I never received.

Common Sense should tell anybody that if you don't sent receipt with Serial then "How in the He-l" are they to know what gun you bought, one could send in a sale receipt 10X without a Serial and get 10 rebates  ! NOT!
