Shields for $359

I don't know if you can tell about the recall by this pic, or if you actually need it in hand. This is their pic of the trigger.
You'd actually have to have the gun in hand and do the "trigger test". I actually just called and asked and the guy said, yes, they are post recall.

Thanks Roger--That's kind of what I thought. You'd think they sell multiple Shields a day, so they'd have to be acutely aware of the recall--Bob

Paid $399 for mine at LGS ... did not have to wait to take it home and new exactly what I was getting (post recall).

PSA's volume is huge, but I suppose there could still be some "problem trigger/safety Shield's" in the pipeline somewhere. We'll see when it arrives.

I've never seen a PSA coupon and I've been buying stuff from them since they went on-line. The do offer shipping deals on occasion..

Could you help define what a "problem Shield" is? Those that were made in early and mid 2013?

Bud's Police Supply sells them for $335 delivered to eligible first responders and active and retired military personnel. That's where I got mine but I waited about 9mos for them to get them in stock.

Exactly!!!

Bud's PS sells them to first responders, which includes any military service, firemen (volunteer too), EMS, judges, airline pilots, police, security, etc...

You need to know when to check stock, and I've posted that a lot of times too. I can imagine most regulars are sick of me posting this! I've bought maybe 8 or 10 guns from them in the last two years, and never had a moment's trouble.

I just surf over to the website every day or two and if something is in stock I like, I click 'Buy it now' and it shows up at my FFL in 2 or three days.

Right now I'm waiting for a M&P AR15 Sport for $555, but I'd take a S&W 1911 if the right one comes into stock. I just picked up a M&P45c for $442 with three mags.

Oh, that's another thing, they usually include an extra magazine in the LE packages. :D

Okay, I promised before I'd quit telling everyone about the great deals to be had over there and I already broke my promise. Now I'm shutting up.

Some people are happy paying $500 or more for a gun they can get for $335. I can't change the world, and I've done my part.

Now you'll see someone post that you have to be retired military or something which IS NOT TRUE, but anyone who really wants a deal on guns and can read the website instructions... well there's a lot of great deals to be had!

Once again, I'm done trying to save other people money, while increasing my competition for the same guns.... ;)

I was just speaking to those that had the trigger safety issue; I'll clarify my original post. There were some issues early on with the 40's, but I haven't heard anything about that for a long time.

Could you help define what a "problem Shield" is? Those that were made in early and mid 2013?

That's easy!!

One that doesn't work!!! :D

I bought one in 2012 and two in 2013, and all of mine are perfect.

Besides, if there was something wrong I could just send it back.

A lot of people report FTE failures with newer model 9mm Shields. You haven't heard about it?

I folded to the peer pressure today. Actually, I know what a great gun the Shield 9 is.
Ordered one today at PSA $359
Just checked their site tonight and now they're at $399
The Shield gods love me.

They're up at $359 again through 11/25. $15 shipping. They've got $399 on the .40.--Bob

August 19, 2013 Is the "Safety Alert & Inspection Procedure" date...NOT a made-prior-to Recall Date.

If the gun passes the "trigger test" it is not recalled...doesn't matter if it was made prior to August 19 IF IT PASSES THE TEST.

I saw one a few days ago at a LGS for $350 OTD. It was made on July 3, 2013. It passed the test...so I bought it.

Here is the link I'm sure everyone has seen.

Thanks! Now, I am thinking about buying another one.

$360 Shield
$15 Shipping
$30 transfer fee
$405 Total (Good Deal)

These things are addicting. I was thinking about getting a Glock 19 gen 4, but they are $578 out the door. I have always wanted one and I like the new grip.

But, the price is way too high compared to the M&Ps.
My LGS sell the Shield for $450 OTD. This is a savings of $45.
