Shields for $359

It was from a store that mainly sells to LE, but I am not LE and he had no problem selling it to me.
Wow! Just think, the Fed Gov't is now short the $80 excise tax you weren't charged. When we get LE guns, we have to get a copy of the purchaser's police ID to show the mfr that the gun actually went to LE. Some day, he'll get caught. Enjoy the good deal. GARY

Walked into one of my LGS's last Friday and they had a Shield 9mm for $389.

That's a pretty good price for an LGS, considering they're on Gander's Black Friday front page at $399. The shop/range by me has no less than 13 of them, 8 in 9mm and 5 in .40. They want $439.

Bud's Police Supply sells them for $335 delivered to eligible first responders and active and retired military personnel. That's where I got mine but I waited about 9mos for them to get them in stock.

Does anybody know a PSA coupon code?
Do they send you one with previous orders?

Just snagged one of those $359 Shields. $15 shipping and $15 FFL transfer.
I got the chance to shoot one in 9mm at an S&W factory demo event at my range. (5 shots only) Then I rented one in .40 and put 50 rd through it. Liked the feel of it better in 9mm, so I got the 9. They have a lot of decent deals at Palmetto. I see they have the full size M&P in .40 for $424 I think.--Bob
Are these "post-recall Shields"?

Are these "post-recall Shields"?

Never occured to me til you mentioned it. Their site doesn't say. I know this outfit is pretty high volume, because the FFL I'm dealing with said they get shipments from Palmetto almost daily. I've got to believe they have the turnover to not have old stock, but we shall see.--Bob

I don't know if you can tell about the recall by this pic, or if you actually need it in hand. This is their pic of the trigger.

You'd actually have to have the gun in hand and do the "trigger test". I actually just called and asked and the guy said, yes, they are post recall.

Thanks Roger--That's kind of what I thought. You'd think they sell multiple Shields a day, so they'd have to be acutely aware of the recall--Bob

Paid $399 for mine at LGS ... did not have to wait to take it home and new exactly what I was getting (post recall).

PSA's volume is huge, but I suppose there could still be some "problem trigger/safety Shield's" in the pipeline somewhere. We'll see when it arrives.

I've never seen a PSA coupon and I've been buying stuff from them since they went on-line. The do offer shipping deals on occasion..

Could you help define what a "problem Shield" is? Those that were made in early and mid 2013?

Exactly!!!

Bud's PS sells them to first responders, which includes any military service, firemen (volunteer too), EMS, judges, airline pilots, police, security, etc...

You need to know when to check stock, and I've posted that a lot of times too. I can imagine most regulars are sick of me posting this! I've bought maybe 8 or 10 guns from them in the last two years, and never had a moment's trouble.

I just surf over to the website every day or two and if something is in stock I like, I click 'Buy it now' and it shows up at my FFL in 2 or three days.

Right now I'm waiting for a M&P AR15 Sport for $555, but I'd take a S&W 1911 if the right one comes into stock. I just picked up a M&P45c for $442 with three mags.

Oh, that's another thing, they usually include an extra magazine in the LE packages. :D

Okay, I promised before I'd quit telling everyone about the great deals to be had over there and I already broke my promise. Now I'm shutting up.

Some people are happy paying $500 or more for a gun they can get for $335. I can't change the world, and I've done my part.

Now you'll see someone post that you have to be retired military or something which IS NOT TRUE, but anyone who really wants a deal on guns and can read the website instructions... well there's a lot of great deals to be had!

Once again, I'm done trying to save other people money, while increasing my competition for the same guns.... ;)

I was just speaking to those that had the trigger safety issue; I'll clarify my original post. There were some issues early on with the 40's, but I haven't heard anything about that for a long time.

Could you help define what a "problem Shield" is? Those that were made in early and mid 2013?

That's easy!!

One that doesn't work!!! :D

I bought one in 2012 and two in 2013, and all of mine are perfect.

Besides, if there was something wrong I could just send it back.

A lot of people report FTE failures with newer model 9mm Shields. You haven't heard about it?
