Shooting is expensive these days... Other hobbies

Nice touch on the arrangement of the patches (setting them in numerical order as much as possible). I've often kicked around the idea of making a "one patch per frame" display and then include an explanation of the elements of the patch and the unit history, but unfortunately that idea gets put in the "I'll do that someday" category:rolleyes:.
should have stated these are the division patchs for ww2,and all are ww2 vintage

My woodshop started out as a cinderblock garage with a gravel floor and no power. I had our electrical service increased from 100amp to 200amp and had a sub electrical box installed in the garage and a concrete floor poured.
After that I ran the Romex and installed the lights, switches and outlets including a designated 240volt circuit for the table saw. Built the benches and everthing else I needed including my custom built router table.
After I hung my hammer collection on the wall and filled the fridge with beer I was all set.
you must have either just built that shop or you keep it locked up tight, otherwise it would be full of your wifes' gardening junk:)

I need to go back to fishin'. All this gear in the closet, and I never use it anymore.

Plus, I went to an indoor range yesterday after work, just to blow off some steam. Of course, I didn't have any ammo for my 40's. The range kindly offered me their stock ammo, a brand I'd never heard of, and it was $30 for a box of 50. <sigh>

Yes, I bought it and shot it and felt moderately, though not completely, better afterward....

Cheap hobbies?

Yeah, shooting is getting expensive, and my boys' feet are still growing, dress code says they can't go to school without shoes.

Lots of reading, lots of free ebooks from Amazon. Don't like it a chapter into the book, just delete, it was free!

Current "hobby" is stripping and scraping wallpaper off plaster walls in my 80 y/o house. Right now working on the hallway (took a break to read the forum) with at least 6 layers of wallpaper, second layer is painted. Love my 5-in-1 tool and steamer!

Bought a scanner last year, have tons of photos, negatives, and slides to scan into the computer. Good project for a rainy day or Sunday afternoon.

Well...this time of year I usually switch from porch sittin' to garden guardin'. Strawberries are up and an occassional critter or two thinks I grow em for them.......

I am retired so I also have more time than money but I am able to fill the hours. My major enjoyable activities include motorcycling, canoeing, bicycle rides, camping, reading, reloading, hanging out and walking on the beach and a little fishing...and some just sitting and thinking...My wife still works so there are things such as yard work and housekeeping with shopping and cooking thrown in...Its not a bad life. I consider anything beyond being healthy, for my age and those I care for being safe and happy as a bonus!

Get a cheap boat!

Just get a cheap-to-operate boat like this one.

The 3 gallon tank will last for evvveerrrrrr:D

That's a LOT of fishing!
