Shooting my KelTec P3AT today

+1 on USAF385's post.

I would add that I can shoot the LCP very accurately. I have only had my 642 for about 2-3 weeks. Put around 200 rounds down range so far. Still struggling with trigger control. This is my first double acton revolver though.

If I needed a very small auto for the ultimate in concealment I'd choose a Seecamp. In my opinion the Kel-Tecs and LCP are too much of a compromise in both quality and performance to gamble with. I know some others feel differently so take my input for what it's worth. Either way I'd strongly prefer a J-frame to any of the aforementioned firearms.

If you have reliability problems with your P3AT send it in to K-T. My gun had issues, but they stood behind their product and made things right.

Kel-Tec is located 20mi. from my house. I took the gun to them in person and they installed a new barrel and slide assembly. That took care of some of the problems with the gun (keyholing the rounds). No amount of repair can remedy poor quality and why play games with your life. I now carry a Kahr. Very accurate and reliable. Those looking for a better quality compact autoloader may want to check out the Diamondback DB 380. One of the employees of K.T. left the company and got with somebody who had the finances and completely designed another compact .380 that resolved a lot of the issues they were having with the P3at. K.T. and Diamondback are located on the same street in Cocoa Fl. The DB 380 is becoming very popular.

Somebody showed me their Diamondback at the Orlando show a couple months back. It was impressive, sort of a blend of elements from Glock and Kahr as I recall. I'd be interested in hearing long-term impressions from owners, but it seemed light years ahead of the Kel-Tecs and LCP.
