I used to use an ironing board, feather pillows and a lawn chair.

Illustration of low buck solution to a problem. Picture shows why there are "beanfield rifles". Contour might require an elevated stand though. Must be nice to be able to practice long range at home.

saw the REEL yesterday on FB. his friends and family will get years use of the table.
A buddy built one of these and the issue was the seats being integral to the table on a relatively small (round) base. Unless it was on perfectly flat surfaces mere breathing was manifested by more crosshair movement than desirable.
He did such a nice job on the spool we ended up pouring enough concrete to provide a flat base and fastened it to the concrete. It solved the stability problem but by that time, we decided that dimensional lumber might have been an easier way to go.
It's still around and still in use after almost 20 years.

Fixed seats might be a problem for different size users but it looks real nice.

Gotta give some props on that one. A lot of work went into it.
I made a plywood table for the bed of my mule. Covered it with carpet and a side table for rifles. It was good place to spread handguns and ammo out. When I got finished I would store it in the barn.

I know the Brits have used some unusual shooting positions (Creedmoor, Hawkins and a couple of others without names) at times, but..................

Clever wood working with the spool. I finally wound up buying a $100 portable bench from Cabelas. I put it away when the snow flies, as it is in the way of my snow plowing. Well, actually on my second one, first sucummed to the snow plow truck. I didn't see it while backing up, that is why it get put up now.
