What are the differences in the Gen 1,2 and 3?
Also, do the Shorty 40's have a model and SKU number?
Does Gen 3 require/come with special tools?
Thanks

The cosmetic differences are that the 2nd generation (Product Code 170060) had full checkering on the grip front strap and an extended beavertail. The 1st generation is Product Code 170011. You can see examples here:

PC Pic Thread...Let's see those PC pistols...

The 3rd generation pistols looked totally different with a redesigned slide and came with adjustable sites, these came in blue and stainless.

The Shorty 40 2000 was the last generation, it has a nice two tone appearance to it.

Grinder has examples of all of these pistols in a group photo on page 3 of the above thread, there is not a solo picture of a 3rd generation or a Shorty 40 2000 however. Sorry I don't have the codes for the later two generations.

Cheers,
Sam

Shorty 40 2000 questions

Be patient as I am new to the forum and if this has been answered elsewhere, I apologize. I am looking at a Shorty 40 2000....I'm having trouble finding info on these, production #'s, values, etc....any help?? I've got to decide between a mk3S and the 2000 as I have both available to me right now

Thanks!

I wouldn't value one over the other, I like the two-tone look and Novak sights of the 2000 better myself. There were usually runs of 500 on most PC guns so they are somewhat rare. Prices run from $750-$1,200, supply and demand.

I am a fan of the Novak sights myself rather than the adjustable sights. I guess it will depend on which I can get a better deal on :)
