Hello
Does any one know if a regular shotgun slug barrel can be rifled? ( the inside of it)
thanks

While one should never say never most shotgun barrels won't have enough material available to allow rifling. So, I would say no, but, as always, others may have differing opinions.

Barrels are relatively cheap. Why would you want to mess with a smoothbore, when you can just buy a rifled one???

Having a very hard time finding a rifled barrel for my Winchester 12 guage 1300 model, is the reason I asked, been told they did not make them?

Is there enough "meat" in the barrel to ream for choke tubes, then install a rifled choke tube? Not as good as a rifled barrel, but better than no rifling at all.

Yes there are people that will cut rifling in shotgun barrels, it will not be deep. If you can find a facatory barrel that is rifled you would be better off. My dad had a Win model 12 20 gauge rifled. I do not know who did the work.
