Posted my experience down under competitive shooting.

But as I don't see too many threads about the SDs, I wanted to share that the pistol worked very well in the Stock Service Pistol division of IDPA.

I only had one issue, which at first I thought might be the pistol or magazine. But as the blood blister developed I started thinking it might have been the shooter. I think that my loose magazine was caused by pinching some skin between the grip and the mag when reloading - I'll chalk it up to the competitive pressure. :)

Nice! I almost went to my first idpa match yesterday with my SD but family priorities kept me from going. How'd the SD do other than biting biting you? Any reactions to the SD from others?

Nice to see someone else still shooting an SD. I'm sure others are but SD threads have been few and far between.

I felt I shot the SD very well. But,

I have not seen the score sheet yet. And as it was my first match I didn't plan head well enough to get target details.

I did shoot low on one target 35yds -- I believe that was me looking at the target and not the front sight - "over the gun"

I had no other FTF, FTE, etc issues.

No one commented, of course our section was 15 noob's. I ended up hanging mostly with 3 guys - one had a glock 9mm long slide (34?)
one had a 10mm 1911 style, one had a Sig in 45.
Of the others, 3 had XD m's -> Father + Son + Friend.

I plan on competing again with it.

Good for you and keep going to matches. You will learn from your mistakes as well as others. Just give yourself time. I have shot various IDPA matches with my Glock 17 and Glock 21. I would like to try it with my SD9.

Keep going and have a blast! Maybe even bring a friend for the next one.
Randy
