I'm getting into competitive shooting and looking for a shot timer to practice with.. What seems to be the most popular one out there ? I'm going to be shooting in the Steel Challenge mostly right now.

I'm also interested in a shot timer, be curious to see what is recommended that won't break the bank.

I have been using the PACT club timer 3 for years, and used another PACT b-4 this one.....I instruct professionally and use them in that role and they have been an integral part of my personal training program for years....my normal practice session involves the use of timer to monitor my times on presentations, reloads, shots, etc as I "compete" against myself.....I know a lot of pro's who use the PACT timers in their courses of instruction and they are an integral part of our range kits. Good investment.

At the matches I shoot, the Competition Electronics Pocket ProII seems to be popular. Whatever timer you decide on, try to hear it first before you buy. Some brands have a buzzer that is just too high pitched for a deaf guy like me to hear with plugs in. :)

We have a pair of PACT Club Timer III's that have been working well for several years at the Sportsmans Club. We are still on the first pair we bought.
They are simple to use.
Push the Green Button to power it up.
Push the Green Button again to start the Timer Delay Count Down. Stops on the last recorded gun shot.
Push the Green button and the Count Down starts again.
Push Both Buttons at the same time to power it down.

Good battery life.
Uses 9V batterys.

It also has a Review Function, and I am sure it does all kinds of functions we do not bother with.

Do a search for the Pact Club Timer III and I am sure a copy of the Manual will show up. That should tell you how to use all the features.

I am a believer that if it is not broke, don't fix it. If we were to get another Timer, it would be the exact same one we have now.

It has a built on Belt Clip. It is easy to use on the belt or clipped on a pants pocket.
