Should I have bought it?

I just bought a 178035 for $80 less than Retail from my local shop.

Be patient, you will find a nice deal, eventually... This madness must stop!

Was in a gun store this weekend and saw an M&P 9mm(109201). They wanted $620 for it. I was holding it and my wife says, "Well you know, they're kind of scarce right now. It won't be here tomorrow." I love my wife.;)

Still, that particular model has an MSRP of $569 so, I thought it was kind of high and passed on it.

Would you have bought it?

I would have passed on it at that price as well. It's really insane what is happening with the price and scarcity of both guns and ammo. I am looking for exactly that same M&P 9mm 109201 pistol. Nobody either locally or mail order has it or can get it. Sad isn't it?

I can see you are suffering from buyers remorse.

I can help you out.

Ship the gun to my friend who has a FFL and I will pay you what the gun is worth and your buyers remorse will be cured.

No one wants to feel like we paid too much for anything.

Heck I just came from Ross because I can't justify paying $40 for romantic wear for valentines. Ross had last years $40 stuff for $8.99. Tear off the price tag and no one will know except my wallet. (Always pay cash and destroy the receipt)

With what I saved I am going to take my sweet heart to dinner.

Enjoy the weapon. You paid too much but so has everyone else on this post sometime in life.

If anyone on this post got sucked into buying a cabbage patch doll for a child when that was the must have thing for your daughter got ripped off, but so what you can't replace the smile on your daughters face that Christmas morning.

No different with your M&P. Enjoy it and make memories and when you need the cash pm me and I will pay you what it is worth and you will never impulse buy again.

Not the same gun... but the same price. I purchased an M&P 40c for 509 plus tax out the door. The compact is even more scarce than the full size, and proberbly brings a more premium price, good job on passing up on the price gouger. Give it a couple more months, prices will come back to reality. I have noticed the gun shops are less crowded as of late, maybe stock will catch up now.

If I needed it , yes . If I just wanted it , no . Ultimately its up to you . Just got me a M&P 9 LE for $540 .

Let me be controversial:p and say opposite of what the majority telling you over here.

Actually my answer will be "it depends"...

If it was going to be your only gun (like mine:() I say you should've bought it.

Yes price is higher than MSRP but so what?

If you're a budget minded person after purchasing a gun cost you $51 more than MSRP, you could've purchase only 900 rounds of ammo instead of 1000.
There you go, you're even in financial terms.

I don't understand why people so proudly claim that they never, ever pay MSRP!"

Yeah they may be right but in order to save $50 they also sit at home for weeks or months and wait while you're enjoying your new gun out at the range or carrying on your belt.

On the other hand, if it was going to be an impulse buy as your 4th or 5th gun then you did the right thing by skipping it probably.

That same gun in LE version is the 309201 which is the same gun with three mags instead of two.
That's a really good deal, but since I'm not a policeman, I can't get it in CA. The only guns I can get are the ones I listed before.

Thanks for all the comments gentlemen. I'm certainly not having "buyer's remorse" on this gun. I need another gun like I need a hole in the head. Even so, I'm a gun enthusiast and the M&P is one that has grabbed my attention. I can see a 9mm and a .40S&W in my future.

I'm in no hurry and it's good to see that not all the gun buyers out there have lost their mind.

Right now on grabagun.com there is a M&P 9mm Pro 4.25 Night Sights 17 round mags for 561.99

I'd jump on that if I didn't buy my FS a couple of weeks ago

Glad you didn't buy it.

All military or prior military qualify for first responder pricing from Bud's Police so your cost is $399 and includes free shipping. That's $221 LESS than the gun you were holding and includes an additional magazine.
S&W M&P9 9mm Fixed Sights 4 1/4" MS for Sale at Buds Gun Shop $399.00

If I were you I'd get on Bud's Police waiting list and they will email you when one comes in. Military service has its benefits. ;)
Went to the link, says "out of stock".

I paid $599 with the glow in the dark sights. Yes it was too much but no one else had any in stock but one local gun shop with a $700 Kahr, and if i didn't buy it I knew I'd end up spending the 4 on something else. Plus this weekend is m "range" trip so I wanted to get it before then and have time to get some ammo.

Good lord that's ridiculous. I payed 525 for mine with the range kit or whatever its called with the holster 2 extra mags in a mag holster and speed loader. They also threw in 100 rounds of target ammo.

Yep. Like I said, get on the mailing list if you want one.
I bought a Shield for $335 from them less than two months ago and they showed 'out of stock' also.

At those prices with free shipping and no taxes, what they get in tends to go fast. Plus some guns come with an extra mag free.

Everybody has to make their own decision. I don't like paying more than I have to. Unless it's a pristine 3rd gen.... ;)

I think this is one downside of living in a good area, everyone else as the $ to buy everything around me. Think about it this way, my old house down in the city was 1300 sq ft and mortgage was 60k. House I'm in now is 1400 sq ft and 160k. Its all about the area because I can look out my window and see an office building employing 10k people yet drive 5 minutes to put a boat on a lake. Makes the area desirable and a lot of people have the $ to spend, one sold right out from under me the day before so I snatched this one up at the inflated price
