Have been offered a Model 19-5 for my Model 36 Ladysmith. Both are blue finished. Both in great condition. both are without box. 36 is 2 inch round butt and 19 is 2 1/2 inch round butt. Is this a good trade?
Should I make this trade?

I'd do it without a doubt! Not a pocket revolver but a better all around weapon.

Is the LS your only J frame? They do make good CC/pocket guns. That being said I like the K frames better and I would make that trade.

Only you can decide. I have regretted 90% of my trades. I only acquire additional/different firearms by buying outright.

I'd take a 19 over a LS any day.
If it was me I would make the trade as fast as I could.

Don't have a 19, or a 36, but I also would take the 19. ( I have a thing for K's, L's, & N's) I like making trades, but have only done 1 recently. Good luck deciding! Let us know how you come out. Bob

Yeah. The J-frame guns are very sweet, but NOTHING beats the Combat Magnum.

Thanks for the input guys. I do have several other J frames in the safe. Unless the 19 has some unexpected issues I think I will trade.

Because it's his opinion and wants that matter the most here. Not some random internet dood. Price can be researched on any one of the online auction sites in 10 seconds. So the rest is just asking for reassurance from strangers.Why do some guys answer questions like this? What's the point?

I disagree completely and think you have good intentions but are missing the point.
Q "What should I do?" A "Whatever you want to do."
He is not asking for a price he is asking for opinions and you gave him his own opinion as an answer. That is implied - of course he will do what he wants. He is asking what WE would do. He is looking for advice - not patronage.
Guns are not all about price or value. From a purely practical point of view, the OP is making an investment whether that is his intention or not. The group exists to help him make a wise investment in this case. Trends, usability, location, even the model variation all come into play. Telling him to go with his gut is nothing but a waste of his time - respectfully.
