Absolutely this! The AMC version will be edited garbage, and filled with commercials. AMC is completely worthless these days. TCM (Turner Classic Movies) is the channel to watch for old films (although I don't think they ever show Blazing Saddles).
Find the DVD!!!
As much as my wife and I love Blazing Saddles, when we played it for our daughter and her husband (both in their late 20's) they were repulsed. They told us they understood that it was satire meant to point out the ridiculousness of stereotyping, but it was too painful to watch. They politely excused themselves and left.
Just be prepared, Blazing Saddles may not be your Millennial's cup of tea.
My kids have the movie lines committed to memory.
If they are available, I would also suggest a boxed set of "All in the Family". The greatest sitcom of all time. It couldn't be made today either.
Sad product of brainwashing by lib teachers. All my great nieces and nephews are home-schooled so to avoid that garbage.
Absolutely show it to them.
As I posted a month or so ago, I said "Candygram for Mongo" to my 20 year old son and he had no idea what I was talking about.
We gotta raise 'em right.
Also Airplane and Smokey and the Bandit.
For non comedy classics, Casablanca and the Maltese Falcon.
Then there's the one from my teenage years: All of the Friday the 13th and Halloween movies.
Loved those cheesy slasher flicks.

While you're at it, why not expose him to the entire Mel Brooks collection? Even Space Balls gave me a snicker or two.
We are really getting stupid in this country. We must halt the pussification of America! Watch all the bad, senseless, politically incorrect offensive-disturbing flicks you want! This is AMERICA, enjoy it. I think diversity makes us great.....even if some sheeple get their fur in a wad....

Why, what an insightful, intelligent, civil comment.
The question is not whether the kid can watch it, of course he can. He is an 18 year old adult.
The question is whether he will appreciate the movie. And I'm sorry, but Race Humor, even spot-on satirical race humor, is a theme whose time has passed.
