Well,I have in a way. I've responded to WTB ads here on the forum. And I agree with you. I've completed MANY transactions here over the years with no problems and no complaints. Made quite a few friends in the process.

I am getting into this one really late, but one thing that has only been slightly mentioned is that collecting these guns (at least for me) is a passion. Not just a hobby that will pass into some other collection in a few years but a passion. I read threads on here almost every day. I check local gun and pawn shops at least weekly. I am only now coming to realize that I can't own every S&W that was ever made.
That my friends is a hard thing to give up. Or sell off.
My wife and kids are not anywhere near as passionate about my guns as I am. Never will be. Each kid has said they would like to have one of my favorite guns, but realy doesn't have a use for all of them.

I didn't buy my guns as an investment. If my wife and kids don't get the full value for all of them at least they will get something.
I don't think I will give up on my passion. I might sell some to someone that will appreciate them as much as I do. But I will always keep the majority of my collection.

List your guns in order of importance to you - most important first, etc.. Sell the bottom 50% and don't think about it anymore.

Bobby, A tough decision indeed. I feel for ya' my friend.
I have sold alot here recently just downsizing some and
trying to consolidate to a few calibers to make things easier
"just in case". Not really hurting for money,(though who can't
use a little more right now). Whatever you decide it will work
out and you will still have a gun or two to go hunting with the
grandkids. These things are nice we collect but i have no qualms
about selling some of mine. When we are long gone and hopefully
not forgotten, it won't matter anyways.
