Hey everyone. My name is Mike, and Im a 31 year old electrician with a big passion for guns. Ive been lurking around for several weeks, and finally decided to sign up. Im a bird hunter. Whether its duck, geese, turkey, pheasant, quail etc, if it flies, it dies. I currently own only 1 Smith. Its a SW1911 I bought in '05. Im a 1911 guy, and when I saw Smith & Wesson step into the 1911 market, I knew I had to have one! This is hands down one of my favorite 1911's. Ive never bought a revolver, but plan on getting a 686 within the next couple months. From what Ive seen, this is a great site with an overwhelming amount of knowledgeable people. I look forward to soaking up as much info as I can.

dude, I live in Woodland. I also shoot birds, and have a SW1911. I also have a model 29-4 classic hunter with 8 3/8 full lug barrel. I work for Granite Const. E-mail me

Mike, welcome from North Carolina. Good looking gun - I bought the Rail Model last year and I really like it. Shoots more accurately than I can.

Thanks. I plan on eventually getting one with the tactical rail for a flashlight attachment. As mentioned earlier, I have my sights set on a 686 6" wheel gun. They are an amazing looking and shooting revolver.

I live in Marysville, but since most outside the area dont know where that is geographicly, I list it as Sac Area. I currently work for Berg Electric building a 5 story hospital smack dab in the middle of San Quentin Prison.

I've beenworking at UCD medical center, but laid off due to weather. My stepbrother lives up the hill in Brownsville

Welcome from Texas Mike. Great forum, have fun, learn lots, share what you know.

Love those grips for your 1911. Could you e-mail me where you got them?

I get to pick up my new love affair next weekend. It took several days for my local FFL to locate one. The only problem now, is finding ammo. I managed to find some .357, but now Im looking for some .38, any suggestions?
