Lots of 'smiths were putting S&W K frame sights on 1911s in the '60s, '70s, and '80s - Behlert, Swenson, Hoag, and Capone are just a few of the bigger names.The 1911A1 came to me with the blue job & Barstow barrel. Austin was known for the sight job. I did the rest. Relieving the underside of the grips on my Unimat to accept the sticky skateboard tape was an interesting project.
These are my 28's converted to 45 Colt. The non-factory pinto is my deer gun and the pin gun is a Charlie Clemens custom.

Love the modified guns. Below are my 27's in 44 and 45, the 1917 factory converted to 45 Colt, and the chopped 44 HE 3rd with target sights added. Seeking out the modified guns or thinking up fun projects seems to be a fun addiction.
