Show off your Custom Gun

Sold off the majority of my collection, but...

I have a few very special guns left that will never sell.

John Linebaugh custom 45 Colt with Wilson target barrel, modified grip frame and custom grips with presentation grade French Walnut.

Custom Model 28-2 by David Sams wearing Spegel Extended Boot Grips in presentation grade Cocobolo

Custom Model 700 by Sid Goodling, made to shoot 7.5X55 Swiss GP11 ammo exclusively.

Custom Model 700 by Sid Goodling, in 30'06. It now has a Leupold 6.5-20X50 LR instead of the Weaver.

Added a couple more from Andy Horvath. The first is a .32 PPC gun with a 5" barrel cut from a 6", slab sided and was stamped ".32 long". Weigand interchangeable front sight base was added, didn't use a sight rib on this one. It started as a re-blued model 15, brought this old gun back to life. Added Keith Brown exhibition walnut stocks to it.

The other is a 25-2 that had a lot of bluing wear and was screaming to be a big bore snub. Also has a Weigand base on it. Not sure if it will be re-blued or hard chromed yet. He stamped "45 ACP" on one side. Its wearing beater grips.

Both shoot great and have "Horvath Custom" on the barrels. Larry

Larry,

that .32 S&W Long looks neat and I bet that it is wickedly accurate! Probably more accurate than my customs .32 Long; a Korth from Ratzeburg. When I was in their shop they had two certified master gun smiths working there.

I have a 1911 that is a custom gun and shoots accurately and reliably.

I'll update a couple and add one.

I was finally able to deliver the Colt Commander to my son just a few weeks ago. In the time since I posted the pics of it in July I purchased a set of titanium grips that are engraved to resemble WWII bomber nose art. I had intended to put them on another Colt that I'm having done then realized that they would be perfect for son's gun. The look and the subject matter really set it off. He had no idea about the pistol and was thrilled to receive it. It took a while but the plan finally came together.

At the same time I gave my son his Commander I also gave my father a new Colt Series 70 repro. His one and only Colt had been stolen along with his other guns during an armed robbery back in the late '70s, none of them were ever recovered. He always liked my 1911s but he hadn't owned another since the one that was stolen. He finally bought himself a Para Expert Commander this summer and really liked it but when I asked him why he didn't just get another Colt he said he could never spend that kind of money on a pistol. So, when I got the opportunity to buy this new Colt from a friend a few months ago I knew immediately where it was going. It's stock except for the sweetheart grips I had made for it, the pictures are of my parents and my mom back when they were dating around 1960-61. She passed away a few years ago and I thought my father would like having the old pictures on it. He knew about my son's gun but was completely shocked when I handed him the Colt box. It's not a custom but it's part of the story. It was really great being able to surprise them both like that.

Mounted a Vortex scope on the SOCOM EBR and have been taking it deer hunting but so far the only shots I've taken have been of the rifle posing on a pile of wood.

This is a custom Double Star 1911 that was built by Cameron's Custom Guns. It's a really nice build and wicked accurate, it's my current house gun.

Consecutive serial numbered USFA Frontier Six-Shooters in 44-40 with fancy French walnut grips and action work by Joe Perkins.

Ed Brown Special Forces with scrimshaw Ivory grips by David Smith.

Colt Single Action Army Revolvers. 5.5" is a .44 SPL and the 4.75" is a 45 Colt. One piece Ivory grips and action work by Joe Perkins.

I'll play!

This revolver started life as a 3 1/2" M27-2. I bought it in 1976 and had a 6 1/2" .44 Special barrel fitted to it and the cylinder rechambered. I fitted a target hammer and trigger. I ground the trigger smooth. Walker Arms in Selma AL did the work.

In 2006, I had David Clements bob the barrel to 5", install a ramp front sight and reblue it.

I always wanted a custom gun and finally pulled the trigger on one abt 2 yrs ago. It was impossible to find a model 16 for a reasonable price so I had one built. Andy Horvath was the person to make it because he lives abt 30 miles away and has a good reputation. Gave him a 17-3 and after about 8 months I got the custom .32 long back from him. Had the barrel cut to 5" to match the 5" K-38 I have. He added a Weigand interchangeable front sight base to it. The hang up was re-boring the bbl, took abt 6 mos. Added some KB Ropers in exhibition English Walnut to it to finish it off. Actually put the Ropers on at Andy's when I picked it up.

Lets see you're pride and joys that you finally had made and are proud to own. Show them off here so everyone can see them. It can be a rifle, shotgun or handgun. Larry

Very nice gun Larry, nice work!!
I find these custom creations just at interesting as all the nice original guns out there!!!! Sometimes you just have to build the gun you want.

Don't know if these qualify as they are simple "bolt ons".

My EDC is a Glock 27 converted to a 357 Sig. New recoil spring and sights. Finger extensions on magazine.

Bedside gun is a Glock 22 with new sights, compensator and converted to 357 Sig. Also a Tack-Rac end plate.

Wife's EDC is a Glock 43 with an ATI match barrel and a compensator, Tack-Rac, finger extensions on magazine.

Trail Gun: A Glock 20, Lone/Alpha Wolf compensated barrel, Tack-Rac.

Glocks are ugly so no point in doing pics!

BTW: The Indian Heritage Vaquero in 38-40 is almost done!

A couple of mine.
