Here is the elusive 60-4 with target sights and 3 inch full lug barrel.

The 2.5 inch 642-2 is the lightweight of my J frame stable.

My favorite J frame is this 60-7 which lost its ugly rubber OE grips for a set of NOS magnas and a T grip.

Here's the earliest stainless steel J-frame you'll ever see (actually, the first stainless Smith & Wesson, period). This Model 60 is one of the initial 39 made up in a pilot production run in 1965 (serial numbers 401754 through 401792), my understanding being that these were utilized for promotional purposes and as saleman's samples. Note the high polish. Also, in the beginning S&W went all in on this new material, with everything being fabricated out of stainless steel, including the bright hammer and trigger, as well as the stock medallions, escutcheons, and screw.

Here's my 640-1. Pics don't do it justice. Great trigger that I had smoothed a bit and XS Big-Dot sight make it a formidable carry piece, especially loaded with Buffalo Bore Tactical .357 loads.
