Been a while since I checked in on this thread. I went through a purge. Too much of a good thing. Most of them weren't shot often. It became about having not enjoying. From my last post I still have the Glock 19 Gen4 and the Sig P938. I have three 9mm additions:
Glock 43. I'm evaluating it against my Sig P938 for warm weather or deep concealment carry. When I finally decide which one works best, the other will go. It's been tough. The P938 provides a much more enjoyable shooting experience than the Glock 43. The Glock 43 carries easier than the P938, and I've been reaching for it over the P938. I shoot both equally well, so it's going to be a tough call.
Springfield Range Officer 1911 9mm. I pared down my collection to just practical guns that served a purpose. I went a little too far. I wanted just one 9mm for pure range enjoyment. When I shoot this, the urge to buy this-that-or-the-other disappears.
S&W SD9VE. I've owned a few budget friendly pistols. I'm drawn to them. I want to see how far I can go on the least amount of money, and still have a quality firearm that I enjoy to shoot. After Sale, promo, discount, and rewards points this was $211 OTD. I couldn't resist. I liked shooting it stock, but I got the urge to tinker. Apex trigger shoe and spring kit made this pistol easier to shoot well. If the SD9VE's striker was partially pre-cocked, it might as well be a Glock 19 with an American grip angle. This pistol is now a permanent fixture in my get-home-bag. The SD9VE represents one heck of a good value: stainless slide, stainless barrel, front cocking serrations, slide release that is just right.
