As I expected, you have lots of them! I only have 2 1911's. Gold Cup Trophy full size, and Commander. As soon as the weather breaks, have to give them a work out! Bob (both are .45's)

I have only a few Colts, but this very early "357" model is one of the more unique guns. It has all of the features of the first production guns including the Duo-tone finish, rounded end sight leaf, unblued polished muzzle, target hammer and target stocks. For those who don't know, this gun was the progenitor of the Python.

The 3-5-7 has been a secret among Colt collectors for a long time...a fairly long production run but numbers were somewhat low. But...the secret has been out for a few years and and values have gone up.

I've had two 6" 3-5-7 models for many years. I sold both of my 1970s 6" Pythons because neither would shoot as well as the 3-5-7 guns.

Two more rarely seen Colts are these Officers Model Special, 4th issue models. These were only made from 1949-1952 in 38 Special and 22lr. One of the more unique features of these is the Coltmaster sight. These were the only revolvers to use this rear sight.

I've always liked the OMS. They remind me of a ray gun with that long, sloping front sight. Very 1950s futuristic! I had one, .38 spl, with Sanderson stocks on it for a few years. It had the slickest action I have ever felt on a Colt revolver. Somebody along the way sure knew what he was doing!

Huntsman's post reminded me that I still have a First Series Woodsman Sport from 1936:

Along with a very nice Heiser holster:

My engagement present from my wife of 44 years. Lawman MK III .357. There's a long story I've told before, so I won't bore you again.

Her father's 2nd year Cobra, inscribed to a Michigan State Police Lt. on his retirement. Long story there, too.

The pair together as my daily load-out in the mid-to late 80s.

A St. Louis PD marked 1937 vintage Official Police, which I am putting back in firing condition.

My 1967s, Gov't and Commander:

My oldest Colt, a shooter grade Pocket .32 from 1917...

Combat Commander that I carried on duty for a few years...

My other 'duty' Colt, a 6721... bought this one my second year on the job. It got SBR'd ~2001, and went through many different configurations as tactics and technology evolved over the years. These days, it's my 'nightstand' gun...

Only two these days, new Python and an old OMT .22 restored by The Custom Shop and tuned by Frank Glenn.

Been trying to get a clean original NS in .45 Colt but most look like they've been to hell and back. And I've lost countless auctions for those special run (TALO, usually) .38 Super 1911s since I'm always competing with lots of other dudes who, shocker, also want one.

I've had a number of Colts over the years but only have the three "new" Pythons these days. Two of them are pictured here. These two are "mine" one stainless, one blue, the blue one being my favorite, but only because I just like blue guns better.

This one is my wifes. She saw me looking at it at the LGS and asked what it was. I told her. She asked if I was going to get it. I told her I had one just like it. She replied "Well, I don't have one." Can't argue with logic like that.
