My engagement present from my wife of 44 years. Lawman MK III .357. There's a long story I've told before, so I won't bore you again.

Her father's 2nd year Cobra, inscribed to a Michigan State Police Lt. on his retirement. Long story there, too.

The pair together as my daily load-out in the mid-to late 80s.

A St. Louis PD marked 1937 vintage Official Police, which I am putting back in firing condition.

There’s an interesting story about the Lawman Mark III 2” snubby. The Colt engineers referred to it as the “Wax Model” as that’s what exited your ears when firing it with full power magnums. Most companies gave their magnum snubbies at least a 2.5” barrel…that half inch difference really seems to make difference decibel-wise.

Uhmmmm… I started out collecting Colts and added Smith & Wessons later, despite my first revolver being a 3” Model 66-4. The first “collectible” firearm I bought was a Colt Officers Model .38 Heavy Barrel. There are more Officers Model revolvers here, but this Officers Model (2nd issue) shipped to Edwards & Walker in Portland, Maine in 1915 might be my favorite. (My Registered Magnum was shipped to the same firm 20 years later.)

Colt Shooting Master 357. There’s a Shooting Master 38 here also but it’s not as rare, and I love the King’s “cockeyed” hammer on the 357.

Colt Single Shot Target Pistol. This model was not named the “Camp Perry” until after the first year of production - which this one is.

Turning to semiauto pistols, this Colt 1911 MK IV chambered in 9x23 Winchester was made in the late 1990s (1 year only)

Last but far from least, my grandfather carried this 1932 Colt 1903 Pocket Hammerless in his pocket when he did beach patrol up here during WWII looking for German U-Boats

Anybody have a "Shooting Master" in 357 magnum or 45acp?

My Colts are in no where as nice condition as the fine specimens here.

Some beautiful Colts you all have.

Here are a few of my favorites I currently have. I’ve owned several others, 1917 Gov marked and 1917 Government marked 1911 with extra mags, holster and belt. Like many of us we regret selling them.

Anyway here are a few from my current collection.

1- 1930 Police Positive Special
2- 1953 Cobra 32 caliber
3- 1985 Peacekeeper 357
4- 1st gen Diamondback 22LR
5- new Python
