Baxter
Although I am no expert regarding Colts,
I do believe that Official Police is in an uncommon variation. It has a 4” Heavy Barrel.

I have been searching and these are just not found very often.
Very cool gun!

My Colts are in no where as nice condition as the fine specimens here.
1947 Colt Commercial from an Armored Car Company
My first off duty gun - Colt Lightweight Commander
1955 Colt Official Police from Friends Dads estate
Govt Model done over by Reeder Custom with Robar finishes and Ed Brown parts

I have been buying some Colts lately to add to the accumulation so I will bight with pics of some of mine.
1949 Police Positive Special
1954 model 3-5-7
1922 pre Woodsman King super target
Late 30's Officers model .22 King front sight
Mid 30's Officers model .38 with King and Roper sights

I can't compete...

LOL! And here I thought that I was only trying to keep up with you guys with regards to S&W handguns! Now I see that many of you have as many or more nice Colts, too! Sigh...

Currently I only have a couple of Colts in my modest collection. I did own an early Colt Defender .45 ACP for almost 20 years, but made a trade for it in 2020.

1862 Pocket Police ca. 1866 (I partially restored this one from a rusty relic)
1952 Detective Special (2nd Issue) with original box
1982 Python ("truck gun" trade-in that I rescued from a local gun shop)

I have just a few Colt pistols. Several years ago now I bought a Colt Python w/4” barrel and it’s a good shooter, so the next year I bought the Colt Python w/6” barrel. I only have a picture of the 6” Python from the day I bought the gun. The 2 Pythons are the newest generation of Pythons. After shooting the 4” I decided to replace the original sights with Wilson Combat rear sight assemblies and front sight assemblies with Wilson Flourescent Green Fiber Optic on both Pythons. I see the green fiber optics much better than red.

I have a Colt Police Positive in 38 Special w/4” barrel that’s over a Century old but I can’t find my pictures of that gun, and it’s way in the back of my safe right now.

I have a Colt 1911- 45acp- Combat Government- MK.IV 70 Series from 1982. These Colt Combat Government 1911’s are scarce as boykinlp mentioned in post #43 about his Combat Govt. Model that he pictured. These guns were the forerunners to the Colt 1911 Elite. They have several neat modifications. They came from Colt with the Pachmayr grips. Some guys just don’t think Pachmayr’s rubber grips belong on a Colt 1911, so I’ll post a picture with nice wood grip also.
