Before I purchased the Dillon media separator I "borrowed" confiscated my wifes extra collander.

The easy way is to buy the units that Midway or Dillon sale for this purpose. They don't cost much and they work great. I used to use a french fry basket and that worked good also and was cheap. Lyman tumblers sometimes have a drain feature on them...that works also. Bottom line is that you have lots of good choices that really don't cost that much.

I use one of these from cabelas it cuts down on the dust a bit. Cabela's Rotary Media Separator

I used a piece of stove pipe with a wire mesh closing one end for many years. Finally broke down and got the Dillon, and wondered why I took so long to make the purchase. It really works so much better, and it really does not throw out enough medial to justify the addition of a cover. Very easy to use. I would imagine that other brands work well too.
